I see myself in a deep dream. Standing atop a tall building swaying precariously from the point where I position myself on one foot, the other perched on top. A crystal clear blue wispy sky casts an intense backdrop against the colour of my clothes, blowing tattered and damaged in the light wind.1
Though I know it’s a dream everything is still all that much realer. Intense as I hunch over with a grunt, emotions forming bulges in my back as the intense oily black feathers emerge from between my shoulder blades. Some wings are torn and hanging loose like my clothing, blood making them blacker in small places where they are damaged.2
Pushing against the small top I stand on my knees bend and I kick off, soaring into the air to falter as the wind catches in places and then slips through where the wings are broken. As I plummet to the bottom of the building I see my reflection and know abuse, pain, lies, darkness, hurt and self mutilation stain my white wings dark black. That is why my wings are that colour, why my face is pale and my clothes are tattered and torn. 3
From facing these emotions they have changed colour over the time they have been trapped and locked away beneath all the deceit and hurt. I long for the wind to cleanse them, and see one feather slowly turn back to white.4
Like chequers they become patchy and know that is my given colour. Black and white for replenishment and painful hurt. 5

Intresting.
Beautiful, and innocent, though you may not think. Black and White are the purest of colors. And are not easy t sway.

-
I like how you describe your dream. Good luck in the contest! You know... I think i once had a dream of black and white.

I really like how this painted a clear picture of not only the wings, but of you as well. I think the myriad of black and white is a good analogy, and I liked it. Good luck in the contest!
