Throne released Sonya. He paid the price as he watched his town burned. Throne and Hugo searched for Gwen, and then they rescued her from the slave traders.1
Gwen used her nimble fingers to search for the showerhead hidden in the white ceiling tile. Her fingers found the openings and she stood as the water poured out like a balmy waterfall over her cuts and scrapes. A drawer pushed out of the crystal wall beside her. Gwen jumped back and caught her breath. Inside the drawer, lay a round purple sponge and two clear bottles. 2
Gwen picked up the bottles. “Soap and shampoo,” she said, as she opened the soap bottle. She squeezed the bottle to push the liquid onto the sponge. Next, she placed the bottle back into the drawer and began to wash her youthful body as she closed her eyes. 3
All I need are the tall trees and the grasses, just like that waterfall. 4
She opened her eyes, as images appeared on the wall with trees and grasses. Gwen stepped into the images. The water stopped. 5
“Are you done taking a shower?” a deep robust voice asked. 6
She covered herself with her arms. “Who's there?” Gwen demanded as her eyes widen. 7
“I am Com, the computer and I run this base.” 8
Her heart pounded hard in her chest as she investigated the strange intruder. Her hand clutched the wall. “You better not be peeping!” 9
“I don't peep and it is not in my programming. My scanners have detected that you left the showerhead.” 10
Gwen let go of the wall as her heart calm down. “You’re the main computer.” 11
“Correct,” Com said. 12
Gwen dropped her arms and walked back to the shower. “I'm not done.” She lifted her hand to run her fingers down the smooth crystal wall. “Where did these images come from?” The water began to flow over her. 13
“You do not have access to that data at this time.” 14
She tipped her neck back so the water would run through her hair. “Who does?” She grabbed the shampoo bottle and squeezed it as the liquid dropped in her hand. Gwen began to wash her long thick blonde hair. 15
“Throne,” Com said. 16
Moments later, Gwen dried herself with the clean long pink towel. She grabbed her blue dressing gown and lifted over her head. Next, she took the last towel to finish drying her hair. She wrapped her wet hair in the towel and then flipped it back over. Gwen walked over to the marble sink as a white gas entered the bathroom. She started coughing as she raced to the door. 17
She pounded on it with her fists. “Throne!” Gwen yelled as she dropped to the floor. 18
The door slid open as two round huge silver balls with long arms floated into the room. One flew to her head and the other went to her feet. Next, a gray beam came from their arms and went underneath Gwen. The beam became shorter as her body rose from the floor. 19
The balls flew and carried Gwen through a series of long corridors. Until they came to a blue door, where a red light scanned them and it opened. In the middle of the room was a bed with computer's consoles on the left and the right side. The balls entered the room and turned so that Gwen's head would lie on the pillow. 20
The white tiger with gray stripes appeared into the light as he watched Gwen was being placed onto the bed. “I don't like this!” Hugo growled. 21
The brown leather straps emerged out of the bed and snapped around her wrists and ankles. Huge monitors rolled down from the ceiling and began to display her vital signs as Throne stepped into the light as his long dark hair glowed. His shirt had no sleeves and was unbutton to reveal his chisel chest. A tan strap lay across his chest that carried his sword. Dark colored suede pants outlined his long firm muscular legs with his brown boots that stopped below his knees. 22
He stared at Gwen lying on the bed. “This has to be done.” 23
Hugo showed his long fangs. “I thought you loved her?” He pulled back his ears. 24
Throne stood there. “Hugo, I love that woman! I'm doing this for her own good.”25
“You and I saved her! Now, you're going to treat her like she's a piece of meat!” His fur started to rise on his back. 26
Throne looked at him out of his corner of his eye. “Stand down.” He watched as Hugo's fur relaxed. “Sonya will need an ally on her side, and Gwen is perfect for the job. She is strong and will be an excellent warrior.” 27
Hugo's tail twitched as he moved one of his ears. “You're doing this against her will.” 28
Throne walked away from his friend towards the computers' consoles that were in the stones walls. His fingers touched the small screen. “I'm doing this to save my planet, my people, and for Gwen.” 29
Hugo walked over to him. “For that reason, you're willing to lose her love for you,” he said as his eyes widen. 30
Throne turned to face him. “There is a war about to begin and Gwen has a role to play.” 31
“Then wake her up! Ask her!” he yelled as he dug his claws into the tile floor. 32
“I can't.” He turned his head to gaze on Gwen. 33
Hugo bent his legs. “I will!” 34
Throne pulled out his sword and held it in front of the tiger. “Why do you care about Gwen and not Sonya?” 35
The tiger showed all his teeth. “Sonya can take care of herself, where Gwen can't because she isn't old enough.” He pulled back his ears. “Are you gonna kill me now?” 36
Throne stared into eyes of the tiger. “Force field.” A blue light surrounded Hugo as he took his paws to hit it. “No. You are part of this plan.” Throne put away his sword. 37
“I won't hurt Gwen!” 38
“I'm not going to have you hurt her or me. But, I'm going to need you to look after her.” He walked over to the screen to touch it. “The queen has put a price on my head. The Moonrise Warriors have sent their best hunters after me.” 39
Hugo lay down on the tile floor. “Because you released Sonya.” His tail kept hitting the floor. 40
“Correct. They're also looking for Sonya as well. I believe I've brought enough time to train Gwen.” He watched the screen in front of him. 41
“You're insane! She isn't old enough; she is still a young teenager.” He began to lick his paw. 42
“Her immortal blood as kept her from aging. Where she still looks like she is twenty-one. That blood runs through her body and makes her ready. You'll see, my friend.” He cracked a smile. 43
Three long steel arms materialized from the ceiling above Gwen. Each of the arms had a different kind of a handle. The two silver balls flew and vanished in the dark part of the room, and then re-entered the room carried trays in front of them. 44
Throne turned around to face Hugo as he pulled out a tiny long tube from his shirt. A dart popped out and raced to the tiger as it entered his neck. Hugo closed his eyes as his body dropped to the floor. 45
“I’m sorry, friend. This is for your protection too.” He returned the tube to his hiding place. 46
The outer lights turned blue. “All systems are ready for the transfer of data,” Com said.47
He let out a sigh. “How long?” 48
The Blue lights flash on and off. “About six hours.”49
He walked over to Gwen and stroked her hair. “I hope that you will understand why that I've done this. I love you,” he whispered into her ear and then kissed her on her forehead. “Begin.” He walked backwards away from her. 50
The long steel robotic arms began to move as clear a thin long tube dropped down from the ceiling. One of the arms grabbed tube, next, the one of the balls flew over to attach a needle on the end. The steel arm handled pushed the needle into Gwen’s arm as the grayish liquid ran down the tube. Gwen turned her head back and forth, as she tried to free her arms. 51
Throne took a step. “She needs more of the sleep medicine at once!” 52
“I understand the request,” Com said. 53
A second tube dropped from the ceiling beside the first tube. The robotic arm reached for the second tube’s end. Next, another automatic arm held the first tube. The robotic arm pushed the second tube’s end into the first tube to combined one tube. Then the yellow liquid mixed together with the gray fluid as Gwen stopped struggling. 54
“Com, why did she start moving around?” Throne asked. 55
“The medicine needed to be adjusted.” 56
Throne squeezed his hand. “She mustn't feel any pain.” 57
“She is knocked out and won't remember a thing.” 58
He closed his eyes. “How much time is needed before for the data transfer will begin?” 59
The blue lights flashed again. “Two hours, fifty-one minutes and ten seconds until the transfer.” Com paused. “I am concerned about you. Your vital signs match hers.” 60
“Where is a chair?” 61
A single blue light blinked. “The recliner is coming, sir.” 62
A silver ball brought a purple recliner with huge cushions over to Throne. He removed his sword from his back, and he sat down in the chair as the cushions adjusted themselves to his weight. He placed his sword on his lap. 63
I want my legs up. 64
The recliner's footrest lifted up his legs. 65
“This is amazing!” 66
“Thank you. Anything else?” 67
“Yes, why did the Na-See build you and this place?”68
“The Na-See were very smart and peaceful people. Fighting was only the last resort, when everything else failed. They loved art, music, and stories. They also like building things to look liked nature. Nature was their favorite thing to study.” 69
Throne's eyes watched Gwen. “It sounds like that you miss them.”70
“I do. The May-High came to destroy the Na-See with their orders from the Masters. Oh, they fought very bravely until the very end.” 71
“Everybody's rule must come to an end. I'm hoping that the Masters end will be soon.” Throne leaned back in the recliner. 72
“May I ask you a question?” 73
Throne looked up at the ceiling. “Ask.” 74
“W-why are you doing this to her?” 75
He sat up to look at Gwen. “I'm tired of the Masters ruling this world. I thought all hope was gone until I met Sonya. Gwen doesn't know all her clan history and why the queen is so hard on her people. The reason why there are so many rebels in the Moonrise's kingdom.” His fingers picked at the pillow. “Sonya will need an ally on her side. Gwen will be just that… In so many ways, Gwen was born to fight this coming war.” He patted the cushion. 76
“In your detailed outline there was nothing mentioned about you?” 77
“I know, Com, I know.” He observed Gwen and the liquid that entered into her body. 78
