Contest Entry that is Option 1, Needs Title, And is Not Finished

6th-graders. We're the babies of middle school; that's all there is to it. And because of this, the older kids think we're not mature. But what about some of us who have had certain experiences, who have experienced more than them, who are probably more adults than they are?1

People like me, that is.2

I hate it how people judge by your age. And how people are fine with you one second and then you tell them something and all of a sudden they're nicer because they pity you, and it's not really a true friendship as much as it could have been.3

This is why I don't let myself get close to anyone... Pretty much everybody, at my school at least, knows of my condition. I don't want to befriend them and then end up hurting them just by my stinky destiny, which, may I add, I did not choose for myself.4

And yet, friendship is so needed...5

I get made fun of for being so close to my stepbrother. People think I'm some disgusting person because I confide in him about everything. They just assume I'm more than just friends with him in a bad way. Which is stupid.6

Why the heck do people have to judge others by age, friends, and Lord knows what else? You shouldn't judge somebody before you know them.7

But of course, the guidelines of middle school are part of a dog-eat-dog world...

Author notes

I'm 11.

    Hehe middle school lol

MAN if you think people can be judgemental wait till you get to high school!!! UMmm either way the way you perceive the world know shows me what you already know ^.^ u really are a little more mature then people your age, and unfortunately since wisdom and experience is only appreciated in times of struggles, and the only struggles guys and girls your age have is well umm... homework, your 'gift' wont be appreciated till adulthood = ) till then try to have some fun
