The Search1
New York
The Present day...
5:30 pm2
Phone rings
"Hello?"
"Yes may I speak with Mr. Kramer please?"
"Yes this is he." Mr. Kramer replied
"Oh hello Mr Kramer, we have received a message from you in regards to your daughter being missing."
"Yes, Yes!" Mr Kramer replied very much thrilled, "She has been missing for 3 days now, My wife and I are so happy you called back! when can we come in to see you to discuss all this?"3
"Well sir that is why I am contacting you now, we will see you at midnight at your address to discuss the details of this matter."

"I'm sorry did you say midnight?" Mr Kramer said unsure if he heard correct
"Yes midnight tonight, My name is Edward and I am calling on behalf of my boss, Mr. Grin, who will be the one searching for your daughter."5
"I see..., 6
couldn't you come in a little earlier?" Mr Kramer asked
"I'm sorry" Edward replied. "I assure you he is the best at what he does. Only thing is, he prefers to work at night."7
"I see then, Ok my wife and I will look forward to seeing you tonight then." 8
"Very well sir" hangs up.9
It was just about midnight,
As a limo drove up the driveway to the front entrance of a large beautiful mansion where the Kramers lived. It seemed the Kramers were very wealthy to live at such a place.10
"We have arrived sir"
"Very good Edward, Now let let us see if we can help these people." Edward came around the front of the limo and opened the rear door and out stepped Mr Grin, pale but beautiful, his skin was flawless and he was well dressed, well groomed, Mr grin was very particular in looks and attire. They went up a few steps to the door in front of them and Edward presses the doorbell.11
A butler opened the door "Ah yes, you must be Edward and Mr grin, Mr. and Mrs. Kramer are expecting you, right this way please." The butler escorted them to a large beautiful formal living room that had a fireplace. And there was Mr. and Mrs. Kramer waiting Impatiently but relieved all the same.12
Edward walked up to Mr. and Mrs. Kramer shaking their hands "Hello I am Edward, I was the one who returned your phone call. Very pleased to meet you."
Mr. Grin wasn't so quick to greet them however, as he walked around the large living room admiring everything that was within. Beautiful statues, Rare paintings, bookshelves, grandfather clock, marble mantle fireplace. It was grand. 13
"You have a beautiful home" Mr. Grin said with his arms crossed behind him
"Thank you" Mr. and Mrs. Kramer said in return.14
"So..."
Mr Grin now turned his attention to them.
"let us get to the matter at hand shall we?
"You say you have a daughter who has gone missing for 3 days now, am I correct?"
Mr Kramer replied "Yes, she was with some friends The night she went missing but they don't know what happened to her. They were a bad influence I kept telling her but she wouldn't listen..." He paused, 15
it was difficult for him to continue speaking. Mrs. Kramer rested her hand on her husband's shoulder and took a step forward as she spoke up...."Her name is Casey, and this is a picture of her" she reached out the picture in Mr. Grin's direction. He walked up to her taking the picture. 16
He looked at it for a moment, and replied. "She looks young."17
"She is 13 yrs old" Mrs Kramer teared and whimpered covering her mouth.
Mr grin looked at the picture and repeated to himself, "hmmm, Casey......13 yrs old." he closed his eyes, as if he were memorizing her in his mind.1218
"Where was she last seen?" Mr Grin asked. Mr Kramer answered "She was at some Gothic nightclub called The Devil's Playground in lower east Manhattan."19
"Very well, I will need just one more thing aside from this picture of Casey."
Mr Grin said while putting the picture of Casey in his front jacket pocket.
Mr. Kramer eager, "Yes of course anything...anything you ask."20
"Could you give me something personal of Casey's....perhaps something that has her scent?" Mrs. Kramer answered "yes, I'll have to go upstairs to her bedroom to retrieve it, if you'll Excuse me it will just be a moment."21
Mr. Kramer curiously asked while they waited, "Do you have a dog that helps sniff out trails?"
Edward steps in and replies, "Uh,...yes, you could say that sir"
Mr Kramer shakes his head, "Well, anything that could help would be much appreciated. You can't imagine losing someone you love."
Mr. Grin's eyes bolted at Mr. Kramer responding quickly. "Oh no you are wrong! I know what it's like to lose someone you love! I lost a loved one many many years ago!"22
Mr. Kramer was speechless, and the only thing he could try to say while apologizing was, "I...I'm..., I'm sorry Mr. grin,
I didn't mean anythi...." Finally Mrs. Kramer comes in and walks directly towards Mr. grin "Here you go! This is her teddy bear, she sleeps with it all the time!"
"Very well, this will do. Thank you,
now if you'll excuse us We'll be on our way."
Mrs. Kramer asked "how long will it take to find her?"
Mr. Grin while walking for the front door says loudly "It will take about a couple of hours, maybe three at the most"
The Kramers looked at each other in amazement, Mr Kramer added, "But the police said it would take weeks even months to find her." Mr. Grin stopped in his tracks and turned around to look at both Mr and Mrs Kramer. He said confidently "I, am not the police."23
The butler lead them out the door Edward and Mr. Grin stepped into the limo.
"So sir,....where do we go from here?" Edward questioned
Mr grin replied, "we are going to The Devil's playground my mortal friend."
And so they drove on their way to The Devil's Playground. Edward strikes up a conversation with Mr Grin
"So sir, do you think they suspect anything? Like you being a,.a...," Mr. Grin cuts in, "about me being a vampire?" Edward shakes his head. "yes."
"No not at all, they don't suspect a thing I assure you." The vampire said confidently24
Edward notices Mr Grin looking for something in the back.
"sir if you are looking for something to drink its in the middle mini bar right in front of you. I put fresh blood in the wine bottle there."25
"Ahh thank you my dear Edward." He drinks. "That is quite good!"
Finally they have arrived at the club. There was a line of people wanting to go in and one big bouncer at the door. Mr grin puts the picture of casey in his pants pocket while He takes off his jacket, shirt and tie, folding them neatly on the seat beside him.
Wearing nothing now but a black T-shirt, black pants as well as shoes. Getting ready for what is to come.26
"Keep the limo running Edward. This will only take a few moments."
"yes sir" Edward complied27
