Chapter Two1
DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN EEnE, OR THE CHARACTERS! (BUT THE CHARACTER THAT IM ABOUT TO INTRODUCE IN THE NEXT CHAPTER IS MINE).2
“Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Sarah, happy birthday to you.” Ed, Ed’s mom and dad sang to Sarah. They were all in the dining room, crowding around Sarah as Sarah beamed and blew out her 12 candles (Meaning she’s 12, obviously). Ed, their mom and dad clapped for Sarah as Sarah blew out her candles.3
“Thank you all for being here,” Sarah thanked Ed and her mom and dad.4
“What did you wish for, sweetheart,” Dad asked Sarah. Mom chuckled.5
“She can’t tell us, dear. It won’t come true if she told us,” Mom told Dad. Dad chuckled as well and adjusted his glasses.6
“Of course, how silly of me. I’ll go get the presents for our angel, then.” While Dad walked away into the other room to get the presents, the doorbell rang. Mom shook her head and looked at her silver watch.7
“Now, who could be here at this hour? Honestly…” 8
“I’ll go get it, mom,” Ed interrupted quickly as he got up from the table and walked to the door. He didn’t want to hear his mom rambling again. His mom does that every time something (or someone) ticks her off.9
Ed opened the door and was surprised to see…Double Dee and Eddy. Ed gave his friends a quizzical look.10
“Guys?! What the hell are you guys doing here? You know today’s Sarah’s birthday,” Ed whispered, constantly popping his head in and out of the house to see if his mom is right behind him.11
“Hiya, lumpy! Remember that kid we saw earlier today? Well, I heard that he’s having a party at his trailer, and every kid in the cul-de-sac is invited! Do you know how many parties we were invited to in the past BEFORE we changed?”12
Ed thought very hard and quickly on how many parties they have been to. After 30 seconds of counting with his fingers, Ed replied, “51.”13
“Well, once we go to that *bunny*in’ party, it’ll be 52! C’mon, it’s going to be fun!”14
“Yes, Ed, please come. I asked mother and father, and they said it will be splendid, but we have to return to our homes at 8:00PM, as I have to be home at that time to make dessert.”15
Ed and Eddy looked at Double Dee oddly.16
“Do you make every single meal at your house, sock head? Is it that important than going to a party that everyone’s invited to??” Eddy asked Double Dee as he put his hands on Double Dee’s shoulders. Double Dee quickly took Eddy’s hands off his shoulders before replying.17
“Mother and father are not in top physical health this week, so I’m doing their errands around the house. I think it’s the usual flu, but a lot of bed rest and drinking plenty of fluids will help them get back to…”18
“Yeah, yeah, we’ll be back by 8:00…geez. So, what do ya say, Ed? Maybe we can score some honeys while we’re there, if you know what I mean?”19
Ed gave Eddy a blank expression.20
“…No.”21
Eddy groaned as he pulled Ed out from the doorway.22
“You’re never always the ladies’ man. But don’t worry, this summer, I’m gonna teach you. Now, let’s go!”23
“Wait, Eddy,” Ed said quickly as he ran back to his house. He stuck his head in the doorway, and said, “Mom, I’m going to a party with my friends, can I go with them?”24
“You haven’t even eaten dinner, yet, sweetheart. Come and eat first,” His Mom yelled from the kitchen. Ed sighed quietly, his head still in the doorway.25
“Mom, there’s food at the party I’m going to! I’ll be eating there!”26
“You eat your dinner now, or you’re not going to that party, you hear me, mister?”27
Ed rolled his eyes and sighed again. “Yes mom.” Ed turned around, gestured his friends that he’s going to be out in a minute. As Ed ran into the house, Eddy sighed, and crossed his arms.28
Meanwhile, Ed and his family were having dinner. Ed’s mom made meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans and broccoli. The pots of broccoli and carrots were located in the middle of the table, next to Ed’s mom’s favorite pink vase. The pitcher of lemonade is located at the far right side of the table, where Sarah is sitting, and the platter of meatloaf was located at the far left side of the table, where Ed’s dad is sitting. The meatloaf was gravy brown, with mashed potatoes and gravy surrounding the meatloaf. The birthday cake was located in front of Ed, across the pots of broccoli and carrots. After the family was done passing around the food, it was time for them to say grace.29
“Ed, will you do the honors,” Ed’s mom asked Ed. Ed hesitated for a split second before saying quickly, “Sure.” His friends were waiting for him. Everyone held hands, hung their ears and closed their eyes as Ed began speaking:30
“Lord, thank you for putting a roof over our heads, and for this delicious meal. Also, thank you for bringing Sarah into this world, as she is 12 years old today….now, please stop bugging us, so we can eat our *bunny*in’ food and get on with our lives. AMEN!!”31
“EDWARD,” Ed’s mom yelled as the whole family opened their eyes.32
“Mom, I’m sorry but I have to go the party! Like, right now! Why are you making this difficult?”33
“I’m not, Edward, you’re making this difficult on yourself. If you want to go to the party, you have to say grace, CORRECTLY, eat, and then go. Now, try again, or we can’t eat at all.”34
“…Fine. Jesus Christ,” Ed muttered so low his mom couldn’t hear him or anyone else.35
Meanwhile, Eddy and Double Dee were still standing outside in front of Ed’s house, waiting for Ed. Eddy sighed. “We’re never going to this party now.”36
“Patience, Eddy, patience,” Double Dee said as he took off his blue cap and blew dirt out of it. Eddy’s eyes widened, as he thought Double Dee was finally going to reveal his hair, but his facial expression quickly changed when he saw another cap, a green cap that said, “A.K.A.”. Double Dee then quickly put the blue cap back over his green cap. 37
“Lord, I’m sorry for saying that, also, I’m sorry for muttering ‘Jesus Christ’ just now…thank you this meal, and this family being together for Sarah’s 12th birthday. Now, we can eat if that’s okay with you…Amen.”38
“Amen,” The other’s said. While the others ate at a normal pace, Ed was eating as fast as he could. He ate the meatloaf first. 10 seconds later, he went to the mashed potatoes, which it was a lot easier to eat quickly, since the mashed potatoes were softer than the meatloaf.39
Meanwhile, Double Dee and Eddy were still waiting for Ed. It was a cold Fall night, 52 degrees. Eddy was about to walk home until moments later, Ed ran out of the house, his mouth filled with food.40
“Alright, lumpy, that’s more like it,” Eddy shouted as Ed quickly swallowed his dinner. He held his stomach shortly afterwards.41
“Ohh…No way I’m going to do that again….”42
“Edward! Where is the party at?” Ed’s mom asked as her head popped out of the doorway. She has medium brown hair; the color of her face was the same color as shrimp. She wore make-up. She appeared to be in her early 40’s.43
“The party’s going to be at the trailer park, and don’t worry, there’s going to be adult supervision. I’ll see you at 8:00. Alright, guys, to the party we go-”44
“Edward, wait, come here for just a second,” Ed’s mom called Ed. The Eds sighed as they’re wasting party time. Ed walked to the doorway yet again, where his Mom was at.45
“I wasn’t going to give you this until your birthday next but, here you go.”46
Ed’s mom gave Ed something that Ed thought his parents wouldn’t give to him in a million years. It was a glass silver cell phone that said, “U phone” at the top. Not only are you able to call people, but you can text message people, surf the web, ad purchase and play games on this phone, too.47
Ed was at a loss of words as he held the cell phone in his hands. His blue eyes sparkled a little, they were almost beaming.48
“I don’t know what to say…thank you, Mom…thank you. I promise I’ll take good care of this phone!” Ed hugged Mom tight. Mom hugged back.49
“And you should. Remember; only use this phone for emergencies only. You hear me?”50
Ed quickly stopped hugging Mom as he felt that a cell called “LUCKY” just lived into his stomach and then exploded, leaving a weird feeling in his stomach. Ed was outraged. Only using the cell phone for emergencies? What’s the point of using phones if you’re going to use them for emergencies? Ed sighed quietly.51
“Yes, Mom.” Ed sighed again as he turned around and walked back to his two friends on his sidewalk. Eddy and Double Dee immediately what was in Ed’s hands. Eddy almost jumped up and down when he saw the cell phone in Ed’s hands.52
“Sweet phone, dude,” Eddy happily commented. Double Dee agreed with Eddy by nodding.53
“That is one great phone, Ed. I suggest you preserve it for emergencies.”54
Ed sighed again. Not only has his mom told him that, but now one of his friends is telling him that, too!55
“Yeah, yeah…let’s just go…” With that, Ed walked down the street, where the trailer park as, where the party was at. Puzzled, Eddy and Double Dee quickly followed Ed.56
“Geez, what’s with him?” Eddy asked Double Dee? Double Dee shrugged.57
