The Red Sparkled Book (Ch1)

Hello red sparkled notebook. I believe I got lucky this morning when I found you at the local supplies store. Which, by the way, is finally in stock with yarn (It had been three weeks with empty shelves and I was starting to get angry. $9.99 for a red sparkle infused notebook. Might I add this was the /only/ red notebook they had in stock. It's possible that we were meant to be together.1

Anyways. I have decided to keep a daily record of my life. Why? That's a good question. I feel as if I odn't express or talk about my feelings much. There's too much bottled up and I cannot trust my secrets, thoughts, or feelings with anyone from around /here/. When you live in a small town, if one person knows your business, EVERYONE does.2

A red notebook that spakrles cannot possibly mutate and form a mouth thereby leading to the distribution of all my secrets. At least I'd hope not. Of course someone could come by and steal this book right from underneath my small nose. That would be embarassing and not to mention traumatic. What little of a good reputation I have now would be completely demolished. 3

I think I'm buying a lock for this thing; you can never be too careful.4

The ride to school has been pretty dull. Christian is in the back seat sleeping. The kid goes to bed at eight o'clock sharp and still wakes up at a time that practically makes me late for school. I think he may be sick or leading a double life. Who knows? Meanwhile my mom is happily chomping away at her fingernails. They're sadly worse than my are. My cuticles hurt so bad right now just from writing. 5

It's not even cold outside and the car heat is set to 90 degrees (f). I feel as if I am being burned alive. I just rolled down the window for a little relief. The cool air is rushing through my hair. I can actually breathe now. The air in the car is so dry I'm surprised I'm not having a nosebleed as I type this. Sadly my relaxing break will be cut short because Christian is in the back seat complaining.6

"Roll up your window, God. It woke me up!"7

He always has something to complain about. He's in the backseat sprawled out underneath a heavy blanket. How exactly can he complain about the fresh air? I think I'm going to roll the window up anyways. I wouldn't want to start a fight this early in the morning with him.8

I'm almost at the school now so I believe I'll write more later.9
