Gentle Rains ch 2.

Morning would soon come to the mansion its residents. A few would be found in the rec room of the mansion shooting pool or watching the television. Remy was on of the ones shooting pool against the resident country tomboy Rouge. Ororo was off to the side watching her husband a newly lit cigarette in his mouth as he concentrated on his game trying to find someway to catch up to his opponent in the game. Striking one of the balls with the pool stick he leaned up smiling pleased with his move. 1

"I don know Stormy, all the stuff you been through this year I think its about time we quit trying for now and at least wait a year or so." He said. 2

Ororo gave a quick glance in her husband's direction as she frowned leaning against the wall crossing her arms over her chest. She didn't want to stop trying to have a baby. A baby was something she wanted more than anything right now. Ever since she and Remy had married, a baby was to be in the process some time later. But with the way things were going, it didn't seem like she would get her baby anytime soon. She didn't know if there was just something wrong with her reproduction system, or if they just weren't doing something at the right time. Countless times in the past she had shown the symptoms of being pregnant but when she went to take the test it somehow always came up negative.3

"You two are still trying to have a baby?" Rouge asked shooting as a small curse escaped her lips a while later. 4

"Yes...I want a baby but that seems like a mere dream, it'd take a miracle in order for me to get pregnant." Ororo said a bit frustrated. 5

"Chill sugah, maybe you should fertility treatments or something." Rouge replied. 6

Ororo thought about that for a while. Fertility drugs/treatments. It was what every woman was doing if they couldn't get pregnant on their own. Then again even if she did and she wound up pregnant she didn't want to be like those women that would have up to six to eight kids at a time and have to watch them fight for their lives because they were born to early. 7

"I don't wind to wind up with six kids at a time Rouge, I'd have to be cooped up in bed for months." Ororo said.8

Rouge shrugged some watching Remy shoot again as Ororo sighed some and lay her head on the wall. She'd give anything to have a baby. Even if it was twins she could handle that, even just one baby would make her happy. All of this heartache was just starting to plunge her into a state of depression. Countless failed tests and dreams of her and Remy outside the mansion sitting under a tree as Ororo held their son or daughter while nursing him or her while Remy would fish and the two would enjoy the nature that was spring.9

"When will it be my turn to have what I want?" She said softly feeling Remy's arms come around her in a gentle, comforting hug as she clung to his shirt, her blue eyes once again showing that deep sadness, that could draw anyone in. 10

"Soon Chere, soon." He replied rubbing her back as the two stayed like that for a while longer and Ororo went and sat down to watch TV. 11

Ororo would be teaching class later on as she walked down the rows of her classroom checking her students work progress as she walked to her desk and sat down. Class was over half an hour later and Ororo smiled some as she collected her students tests and put them in her shoulder bag to grade later. 12

That night Ororo changed into her nightgown as she lay beside Remy sighing some. One more time. She wanted to try just one more time to have a baby with her husband. If it didn't work this time, she'd talk with Remy about fertility treatments. 13

"One more time Remy." Ororo said kissing him softly. 14

"You sure Stormy?" He asked worried not wanting to put her through anymore pain.15

"One more time Remy, please I really want to have a baby...if it doesn't work this time, we'll stop for a while." Ororo said. 16

"Alright." Remy agreed as he laid down with her and pulled the sheets over them sharing an intimate night together.17

As the weeks passed so did Ororo's excitement to find out if she was pregnant or not. She hoped to Ra that she was this time, she had spent hours praying to her gods every night to bless her with a baby of her own, with her own family. It wouldn't be until a little over two more weeks that Ororo would start showing the early signs of being pregnant, cramps, sudden dizziness and a whole lot of yawning. 18

"Sleep much?" Remy asked holding her in his arms seeing her yawn again. "Yes, but for some odd reason I can't seem to stop yawning." She said. 19

"Think your gonna have a baby this time around?" He asked.20

"Don't know...I hope so though." She said and leaned her head up meeting his lips in a light kiss as she pushed her hair back.21

"I gotta get ready Stormy." He said kissing her neck.22

Ororo giggled and pushed him away watching him walk off to get ready for work. Remy had taken up a job at a bar to earn some extra money for him and Ororo in case she did happen to become pregnant he'd have the money to support her, so she wouldn't have to work so much, or at all. Yes they had the much traditional role, Remy went to work while Ororo stayed in the mansion to teach and do things that wives did. Though Ororo didn't consider herself the 'typical' wife she enjoyed the married life and wouldn't change it for the world. 23

A sudden thought crossed her mind. That pregnancy test she had bought recently was still upstairs. She had almost forgotten about it when Remy came and grabbed her to spend their normal hour or two together in each others arms watching television or resting in one another's embrace, before Remy headed off to work for the night. So while Remy got ready she snuck upstairs into her loft and into the bathroom to take the test. Watching the time on her digital clock in her bathroom she bounced some waiting for the results of the digital pregnancy test.24

Three minutes later a gasp would escape from her rose colored lips as she brought a hand to her mouth and her eyes widened. Running from her room and downstairs back to the living room she saw Remy just as he was about to leave and called to him. 25

"Remy wait."26

"Hey Stormy there you b--" He stopped as Ororo threw her arms around him burying her head in his shirt as Remy frowned. 27

"Stormy....what's wrong." He said. 28

Ororo panted some from running as she looked up, her blue eyes bright with happiness. "We're gonna have a baby." She said through a few breaths. 29

"What....really?" He said surprised not believing her. 30

"Yes Really, the test came out positive Remy we're going to be parents." Ororo said happily as she hugged him tightly.31

Remy of course did the only thing he could and picked Ororo up and spun her around and kissed Ororo deeply feeling an equally deep kiss from Ororo. He was going to be a father, after all the sadness a light finally shone through for the two of them. They were going to finally have their baby that they had wanted for so long.32

"Remy I love you so much." Ororo said kissing Remy.33

"I love you to Stormy." He said kissing her back as he hugged her close his ponytail falling over his shoulder as he held his wife in his arms.
