When you go down to the woods today... (Chapter three)

"Please, please!" Sophie pleaded, her voice shook with a desperation that could be seen in her eyes, they begged for mercy. "Please, where are you taking me?" Tears streamed down face, dripping like darkened raindrops on to the unkempt ground. Her hands tied too tightly behind her back, rope cutting into her tender skin, leaving red stains down white skin. With no hands to wipe her face, a mixture of salty tears, eyeliner and mascara just ran down her cheeks, seemingly flowing like a gentle stream, when really her tears were a cry for help making a bid for freedom. Her skin began to stain from the unwelcome mixture. "Just tell me where the f**k we're going!" She cried angrily, not fully understanding she had no power in the situation.1

"Shut up!" A sinister voice came from behind her. A sudden thump to her lower back sent Sophie tumbling to the ground, and on her knees, she sobbed uncontrollably. She didn't understand why this was happening, what was going to happen next or why it was happening to her. She was confused, frustrated and scared, and this was not a girl who succumbed to her fears easily. You never think it's going to happen to you though, do you? 2

"Get up!" She didn't even attempt it. With a swift kick to the ribs from the kidnapper, Sophie gasped for breath and let out a small cry. "I told you to get the f**k up!" She sobbed harder but still didn't move. "If you won't get up by yourself, I'll get you up!!" He threatened, getting angrier now, yet she still remained on the ground. His threats seemed to just pass by her ears, not penetrating her mind to effect her responses. He grabbed her hair aggressively and dragged her up. She screamed, a scream so painful it could force the iciest of hearts to feel some kind of sympathy, but her kidnapper not only did not seem distressed by this, he seemed to enjoy her pain, he fed off her fear.
No tears fell, no words of prayer were spoken, there was no point. She knew there was nothing that she could do, so why bother trying? Her sole had been crushed. The empty shell of what she was carried on walking, tired, but seeing no point in complaining, she walked on. ‘We can’t of gone that far... But I’m so tired... We’re still in the woods, aren’t we?’ She thought. Her eyes strained through the darkness to try and grasp an idea of where she was. Everything started spinning, gasping for breathe, stumbling from side to side, Sophie dropped to the ground. She was unconscious.
