A man who loved poetry decided to hold a contest. Many good poems were entered, and this pleased him. However, though knowing the rules and regulations of the contest, some chose not to follow them. Though he was saddened to do so, they were disqualified from winning the prize. The writers were upset and asked him to reconsider. Being a fair judge, he couldn't allow what was originally written, but gave them another chance to enter a different poem. They refused and went away angry, shouting obscenities.1
Author notes
This came out of something that happened to me, but I can't say it's what inspired it. God inspired it by teaching me something through something unpleasant.
I've never written a parable before. I hope I did alright.

so true it's funny
This actually made me chuckle a bit, in the good way. I agree with Old Doc Wit there, and have to say that the simplicity is what makes it so effective... the simplicity and the blatant reality that it is, because we all know people are honestly like that. Fantastic. -
Cleverly creative
The brilliance and profound wisdom of this, I would compare biblically to Philippians 3:14: "I press toward the mark… for the prize… of the high calling... of God... in Christ Jesus; also "Christ as the "prize, the fullness (as in Ep.3:19)." I loved this "in all its profound wisdom, thank you!" -
This piece touched me with it's simplicity and it's honest nature, lovely!
