The school for the gifted, AKA Charles Xavier's school for the gifted youngsters, and the home base of the mutant fighting team known as the X-men. Though they seemed to fight very rarely now, because it finally seemed through their hard efforts and though the efforts of others Peace was finally starting to be achieved through Peaceful, and sometimes non violence, and violent, while it be politic wise no physical violence was needed. So with the fighting seeming to be a thing of the past the X-men all settled down and grew into what seemed to be a normal life, of no fights, no going out into the jet, and certainly no Brotherhood of mutants. Inside everything ran like a normal school, and with the students and teachers glad to have a little time off for break, everyone went home to see their friends and families while others stayed back in the mansion.2
Ororo Munroe was one of these that decided to stay in the mansion as she hummed a soft tune hearing the small cries of her son as her sky blue eyes looked up at the crib where her son lay. swinging her legs to the front of her bed her feet slid into a pair of slippers as she put her robe on sliding her hair out so that it lay against the back of her robe. Walking over to the crib she picked up her two month old son and placed him in her arms cradling him as she continued to hum and bounce him a bit slowly seeing him calm down. 3
A smile crossed Ororo's lips as she pat his back gently. Her son looked almost exactly like his father had it not been for the color of his eyes. The little two month old had a head full of auburn red hair a mix of both his parents skin colors, which turned out to be a light tan color and the most striking part of the boys features, his blue on black eyes which he had inherited from both his parents. To his mother he was a sight of near perfection, to his father, the boy was the pride and joy of all the hardships Ororo and her husband had went through to get this far in life.4
Ororo looked up hearing the door open as she smiled and turned her attention back to her son who was now feeding from his mother breast. Remy Lebeau smiled as he walked inside and shut the door leaning against it as he looked at the scene of his wife and son. Ororo looked beautiful anyway one was to look at it, whether she was outside with nature or inside doing what needed to be done, a natural beauty was always about her. Now with their son comfortably in her arms and feeding, the little scene seemed to give off a feeling of tranquility. Walking over Remy gently slid Ororo's hair to the side as he placed a butterfly kiss on her neck and Ororo looked up as the two shared a passionate kiss.5
Remy smiled some as he looked at his son and gently stroked his head and kissed it as his son whined a bit. 6
"Remy you know he doesn't like being bothered when he's eating." Ororo said shooing him back. 7
"Hey hey easy, not often I get ta see him now, right Rem?" He asked smiling.8
"Wanna hear a story little one?" Ororo asked fixing her robe as she held her son against her shoulder and patted his back hearing a small burp as she smiled and rocked him some as she stood and went to the rocking chair sitting by her window. Sitting down she wiggled a pair of plastic keys in front of him as Rem watched the keys jingle.9
"Hmm hmm, it was difficult bringing you into the world, getting pregnant with you even, but now here you are...." Ororo said thinking back nine months earlier.10
"Stormy, come on time to go." Remy called as he went upstairs to Ororo's loft and walked inside seeing her in the bathroom. 11
"Stormy." He said walking over, seeing a pregnancy test in her hand as she frowned some.12
He knew that look all two well, and that meant one of two things, the test either came out negative again or it came out positive and she was just shocked by the results. Ever since the two had gotten married a year and five months earlier they had been trying to have a baby, something that Ororo wanted and needed to feel complete, and something that he deep down wanted as well, a son or daughter to teach his craft to. Two of the best thieves known to men bearing a child to carry on their legacy. But so far, that dream had seemed so far away. So many tries, and so many failed tests, it was beginning to wear on the two of them. 13
"What is it Stormy?" He asked going to her and sliding her hair back. 14
Ororo looked over at him, a deep sadness showing in her normally bright blue eyes. Remy knew that look also, it was one he wished she didn't have to feel. It was another failed test, and as he had done so many other times in the past year wrapped his arms around her waist and brought her close to him as Ororo shook before burying her head in her husband's shirt and crying, her dreams of having a child crushed once more. 15
The two stayed like that for half an hour, Jean eventually came up to see what was wrong, after seeing Ororo in the state she was in, she all but knew what was going on as she went to comfort her friend as well. After Ororo had calmed down enough she apologized for making everyone wait and the three left to have a nice dinner at a new five star restaurant for couples and families.
