painful kisses (ch. 8)

I tossed my bookbag into a corner and sunk gratefully into an oversized purple chair. Calla was already home.1

"Are you going to Tre's party?" she asked me.2

"Of course... Damien would never forgive me if I didn't." I replied. "Are you?"3

"Yeah. I promised i'd bring Chelsea, she wants to be a bloodletter. I have nothing to wear though." I groaned. Chelsea was the most annoying of the freshman to worship the ground Calla walked on... a vampire-crazed goth girl that reminded me of one of those little dogs that runs around you in a circle, yipping... then pisses on the floor. Calla frowned at me.4

"Chelsea's nice."5

"Yeah, nice. Now come on... lets go get dressed. I bet I can find something."6

We raided my wardrobe first. Calla and I fought over my red glitter jeans, and finally I gave in with a sigh. After going over every item of clothing we owned, I eventually settled for a black leather skirt and some black stiletto heels- with a red bikini top and black fishnet shrug so I could show off my tattoo. I tried at least 19 different ways of putting up my short black hair, then finally decided to leave it be. We spent about an hour on our makeup before it was time to go- a party at Tre's was a big deal.7

Desiree, Tre's girlfriend, greeted us when we walked in the door. 8

"Damien was looking for you," she informed me. Surprise surprise. I found him lounging on the couch in the back corner, entertaining a large group of people with a probably-bullshit story, and took my rightful place in his lap. He put his arms around me hugged me tight while proceeding to tell his circle of fans how he accidently stopped a bank robbery in progress when he went to feed off the robber. 9

I rolled my eyes at him and rested my head on his chest. He smiled and finished his heroic tale. 10

"Stay here," he whispered when he was sure the attention was no longer focused on him.11

Curiosity got the better of me, and I peered around the corner to see Damien talking to Tre. Tre winked at him and pointed up the stairs. I suddenly realized what was going on and started to get nervous. I didn't even notice Damien was back until he gently grabbed my arm. He was smiling.12

"Come on," he said, and I anxiously followed.13

He led me into a bedroom that obviously wasn't Tre's. It was black, but the walls were covered with Destiny's Child and Usher posters. Damien wrinkled his nose in disgust and I laughed. I stopped abruptly when he flicked on the light. It was a blacklight- suddenly the room was bathed in a warm purple glow. I was staring in awe until Damien pulled me back into reality and led me over to the bed.14

I laid on top of him and he started to kiss me all over. I could feel his hands over my shoulders and my back, rubbing me. He started to take off my top like it was something he did every day- the thought struck me suddenly and I hoped for his sake that it wasn't. 15

His hand moved slowly up my skirt. Suddenly, the door flew open and we winced as the light from the hallway came pouring in. My hands flew to cover my bare chest. Obviously Tre had forgotten to tell someone this room was occupied...16
