Too Late

She had it all, but then for some reason she lost it.  Andrea went to church, she worked as hard as she possibly could in school, and she had a great guy.  But somehow that all went down the drain.  This is the story of her life.1

Andrea tried her hardest to be the perfect girl.  Her parents wanted her to be perfect.  They wanted her perfect in sports, perfect in the musical arts, and perfect in school.  Don't under-estimate her though, she also wanted those things, but it seemed as if she never tried hard enough.  She was satisfied though, because she had Brian.2

Andrea was like every normal girl.  She had her hopes, she had her dreams, and she had her fun.  She loved to be entertained by everything, so she started to do things that were amusing.  She thought she had nothing to lose, she thought she was invincible.  Andrea never realized by her selfless acts, she could lose it all.3

Andrea liked this guy named Brian.  Brian was smart, funny, good looking, and he had a head on his shoulders.  Brian also had his hopes, and dreams.  He just didn't have his "fun" like Andrea did.  Brian stayed home and studied so he could succeed in life.  He always dreamed of being a brain surgeon, and everyone knew that he was going to succeed.  He would never let anything interfere with his dreams... and nothing ever did.4

Brian was what she wished for, he was perfect, and she loved him dearly.  Andrea realized that Brian also cherished her too, so they began to get closer.  It was wonderful during the time they were together, but somehow, it fell apart.5

One day, Brian had a change of heart, but never told Andrea why, he just let her mind wander.  So a few weeks went by with them not talking, until one night Andrea finally asked Brian if this was the way it was going to be, and he said that he still wanted to be friends.  But once again, it came to silence, only this time was a few months.  Andrea tried moving on like Brian had, but it just didn't work... she went right back to her feelings for him.  So she talked to him about it, and she had found out he had feelings for someone else, but not to give up hope.  But what Brian didn't realize was that Andrea just couldn't wait any longer.  So Andrea gave up.  Years went on with silence between the two of them, until one August day.6

Andrea was now 21, and was up to her usual thing, until one day she got a phone call.  She picked up the phone, and it was her lifetime friend Siri.  She had some horrible news for Andrea.  Siri told her that Brian had been in an accident, and didn't make it.  The news hit Andrea right in the heart, that she could barely speak.  No one had known that Andrea still had feelings for Brian.  But Andrea just knew it wasn't going to work, so she kept it to herself.  But she then realized that it was too late.  Never would she get the chance to be with him, just because of the one argument they had when they were teenagers.7

Andrea flew back to her hometown to go to the wake, and funeral.  While she was at the wake, Brian's mom had an envelope for her.  Andrea Lynn Saton was printed on the front.  She opened the envelope, and inside was a letter.  She read the letter, and it said, "Andrea, I’m sorry for our differences in the past, and I would love to be with you for the rest of my life.  I wasn't ready for a relationship at the time... and for that I made a big mistake, because now we are far apart.  I would understand completely if you ignored me.  But just to make sure the last thing you hear from me is... I have always loved you, and I always will, And I will forever wait for you. "  Signed, Brian Charles Jacobson.  Andrea looked through the letter once more, and realized it was dated June 2nd, and she began to cry.  Andrea then realized that where Brian would be waiting for her, would be in heaven.8

Andrea couldn't believe this was happening.  It just hadn't hit her yet, just knowing that her one chance was gone was definitely the hard part to accept.  So years went on with Andrea wishing that she could go to heaven to be with Brian again, until one day her wish came true.9

Andrea was driving home one night from work, and she decided she'd better stop for gas.  She pumped her gas, and then went into the Conoco to pay for it.  While she was at the counter, a guy in all black, with a mask on came storming into the store.  He ran to Andrea and put a gun to her head, and told her she had to take him where he needed to go.  So the masked man drags Andrea to her vehicle, and puts her in the drivers seat, and he jumps in the passenger seat.  The man told Andrea where he needed to go, so she unhesitantly took him there.  As soon as they arrived at the desired destination, the man jumped out of the car with his gun in his hand.  And as soon as Andrea was getting ready to drive away, the man walked a little bit, then turned around, and fired the pistol through the windshield.  The bullet had hit Andrea in the chest, in the heart to be exact.  But Andrea had just enough strength to get her cell phone from her dashboard and dial 911.  The ambulance rushed to the scene, and rushed Andrea back to the nearest hospital.10

Andrea was lying in the hospital bed with her family and friends surrounding her.  She was so weak, and just wanted to give up.  So Andrea's mother got into her purse and reached for her wallet.  Inside were pictures of all the people she cared about.  Her mother said, "See Andrea, look at all these pictures.  They are all of people who care.  You know you can't give up on them too.  You know you want to see them again!"  and then she handed Andrea the pictures.  Andrea was looking through the pictures when she came across one imparticular picture.  The picture was of her and Brian when they were together.  And at that moment, she really knew who she wanted to see.  And then the heart monitor went blank, there was no sign of a heartbeat.  Everyone around knew what that meant, she was now in a better place.11

Just as everyone was leaving the room, Andrea's mother grabbed the wallet that was in Andrea's hands, and saw the picture she stopped at.  It was the picture of her and Brian, and at the very moment, everything made sense...  Andrea just wanted to be with Brian, and this was her chance.  Now she is where she wants to be, with who she wants to be with.  She is now with Brian, and God.  The two best men in the whole wide world.12
