Rose Petals Ch. 10

After the visit from Yuuske and the others Kurama would be visited by several of her classmates who were worried for her because of the accident, even a rare appearance from his fan club, so by the end of the third day of having been visiting Kurama sighed some plopping down on the couch. She hoped that was the last of the people that had to visit, all these visitor's were beginning to take their toll on her. Being as stressed out as she was on top of that just made it worse, and stress was something she didn't need, it was bad for the kits growing in her belly. She jumped a bit when she felt Hiei put his hand on her shoulder and she sighed some. 2

"Tired? Go rest and I just won't answer the door if anyone else comes by." He said. 3

"No I'm fine. I didn't expect to be visited for three days straight is all...Mmm don't push now." She said rubbing her belly.4

Hiei blinked a little curious as he felt Kurama's stomach feeling little slides and the four kits pushing against his lover's stomach. He smiled some and felt different spots on Kurama's stomach. It seemed the four kits were pushing around for their own space, and neither of the four wanted to give theirs up to the other. 5

"They do that a lot lately." She said taking a few deep breaths. 6

"Cramps?" Hiei asked. 7

"A little." She said and leaned on Hiei as he sat dow beside her.8

The two sat like that for a while, in the quietness of their home, enjoying each other's company. Kurama sighed a bit as she pushed a few strands of her hair back and looked up at Hiei. 9

"Hiei.."
"Mmm? Hungry?" Hiei asked.
"Yeah For a turkey sandwich with Honey and green olives with cottage cheese." She said.10

Hiei blinked and made a face shaking his head some. Must have been one of her cravings setting in. Weird choice of food it was but Hiei shrugged some and got up going to make Kurama's sandwich. He came back with it later as Kurama smiled and kissed Hiei's cheek. 11

"Thank you Hiei." She said and ate her sandwich happily feeling the kits settle down in her tummy.12

"There now." She said giggling glad that a bit of food had settled them down enough. 13

Once she was done eating she stood and stretched a bit and yawned shaking her head some. Maybe Hiei was right, maybe she did need sleep she hadn't really gotten much of it lately, only a few hours worth between, the visiting of her classmates, and at night, she would be plagued by nightmares on and off, She knew now that her dreams were caused by, her anxiety and her fears of what was to come in her pregnancy so she tried to calm her fears, and had even spoke with her mother about it, of course it was through writing and she had to use the whole I have a friend that needs advice thing but it did help her calm her fears and anxiety more or less, so the nightmares were beginning to go away. 14

All and all, sleep was one of those things that she either couldn't afford to do, or didn't have the time for it. And she had the feeling that once the kits started actually kicking instead of pushing against her belly sleep was gonna be even harder to get. She sighed some taking her watch off and setting it in her pocket frowned some as she walked upstairs. Just a little nap. Maybe an hour or two would do her some good.15

"Hiei if anyone but Yuuske or the others come over tell them I'm not feeling well and went to rest." She said going upstairs to her room.16

Hiei glanced at her before she disappeared upstairs and put his feet on the table having a nap himself. Kurama would come down a few hours later seeing Hiei still sleep as she smiled and got a blanket and put it around the smaller demon. Leaning up some she winced at the pain in her back and took a few deep breaths as she went into the kitchen to clean the wound on her shoulder and bandage it again, as she set a pot of water on the stove to boil. She looked up hearing something as she frowned some. 17

"Who's there." She said frowning hearing a small but deep chuckle as she frowned summoning her rose whip. 18

"I won't ask again...show yourself." She said as she gasped and heard the window blow in as she dove to the side and covered herself to avoid any flying shards. 19

Kurama looked up a while later to see a demon with large wings and bird like features on her window sill as the demon chuckled. "Nnn...who are you?" Kurama asked.20

"No need to worry about that, you'll be dead before you learn my name." He said flying at Kurama as Kurama frowned snapping her rose whip at the bird demons wing as the bird cawed in pain and fell to the ground as Kurama stood and ran into the living room seeing Hiei holding his Katana blade. 21

"Hiei."
"Get behind me fox." Hiei said as Kurama got behind him and frowned some.22

The demon bird soon flew into the living room as Hiei slashed at the bird splitting it in half as the demon fell on the floor dead as Kurama frowned bringing a hand to her mouth to keep from throwing up at the smell of the dead demon. 23

"Mmm..." She moaned some.24

Hiei frowned some as he looked at the demon and held his hand out as blue fire shot from his hand burning the demon to a cinder. 25

"The heck was that....and why do I feel like I'm gonna be sick?" Kurama asked sitting down. 26

"That breed of demon's blood emits quite a strong stencth when it dies or when it hunts if its wounded and anyone touches its blood...let's just say it has the same effect as acid and eats through anything." Hiei said. 27

Kurama nodded some as she moaned leaning over trying to keep the turkey sandwich she had, had eariler down. 28

"I know." Hiei said kissing her forehead and getting a bucket as he rubbed her back trying to comfort her. 29

"Thanks Hiei." Kurama said and leaned up a while later as she took a few deep breaths to try and keep her lunch from coming up.30

"Mmm." He said and wen into the kitchen to get her tea ready and came back with it as Kurama smiled and drank it slowly frowning some. 31

That was the second time she had been attacked by demons. The first was when she had become female...or rather the day before hand. And now this. She frowned some sighing seeing Hiei go back in the kitchen to look at the damage that had been done. Other thank needing a little clean up and a new window, the damage seemed to be very little. And that cinder on the floor...meh that could be swept up. Hiei would have to be more on his guard now after that demon attack.32

"Hiei.." Kurama said as Hiei looked back at her and looked at the window again. "Let Yoko out at night I'm not taking any chances with these demons attacking you." Hiei said. 33

"That's a bit dangerous don't you think?" Kurama asked a bit worried. 34

"We've got no choice and the two idiots can't stay up all night long to watch over you." He said. 35

"Yeah I guess so." Kurama said nodding.36

Hiei nodded as well as the rest of the day resumed as normal. The two went to bed that night as Kurama let his other half out to keep watch for the night as Red hair became long silver locks and green eyes became gold as a toothy grin came after along with the cool and calm voice of the three thousand year old thief king.37

"So remind me again why I need to be out at night when I can be getting some much needed sleep." He said looking at Hiei. 38

"If you want to die be my guest." Hiei said and went to sleep.39

"Hnn." Yoko said and sat on the window sill pulling one leg up to his chest as he stretched the other out keeping watch for the night.
