My Place Chapter 14

When Catherine ran out I wondered what I did. I tried to call her back but she wouldn’t listen to me. I went inside to figure out what just happened. I said that I was going to miss her and didn’t want her to leave. Then I kissed her and she said now she couldn’t leave. Then she ran out of the house and into the woods.1

I had to find her before anything happened to her. I just couldn’t go fast enough to catch her. Just then I heard hoof beats outside. I opened the door and found Fresiontin standing there. I was shocked to see him standing there. Then again I was happy he did come so now I could send him out to find her.2

“Fresiontin, I need you to find Catherine. She got upset and ran away,” I told him quickly.3

“Why did she run away?” He asked.4

“I don’t know just find her please,” I was starting to get frustrated.5

“Ok, just chill man,” He said as he turned towards the woods.6

I watched him canter off in the direction Catherine. I hoped he found her before night came. So I went back inside to find something to do. I was so worried about Catherine that I didn’t pay attention to where I was going. The next thing I knew was I was in her bedroom. She had paints out on the table from nights when she would paint. Pencils were strewn all over the table that she used to draw. 7

I walked over to the paints to look at them. There were paints of sunsets and the animals. Then on the bottom of the pile were about 10 paintings of me. They looked exactly like me, almost like I was looking in a mirror. I don’t remember posing for any of them which was scary.8

How could she possibly remember my face that quick in order to paint those? I shook off a feeling I was getting and went over to the drawings. There were papers with drawings of flowers, trees, creeks, animals, and me. They were perfect. She had every shadow, every mark in the correct spot. 9

I was about to look at more pictures but I heard Fresiontin coming. I ran downstairs and out the door. There was Catherine laughing on Fresiontin back. I was so happy to see she was ok. I ran up to Fresiontin to help her off his back.10

“Catherine, why did you run away?” I asked her.11

“I’m sorry. My head was all mixed up and I didn’t know what to do. I need to get away and clear my head,” She told me apologetically.12

“Oh, and here I thought I was what made you run away,” I said in relief.13

“Tyler you are the reason,” She said with a twinkle in her eyes.14

“Well then I’m sorry,” I told her with a slight smile.15

“Well now I really need to get going,” she said.16

We walked into the house to get some things she would need. We were silent as we got the few belongings together. Both of us couldn’t admit how much we would miss each other. I was savoring every second with her by my side. It was soon time for her to leave and I was dreading that.17

“I guess that’s every thing I’ll need,” Catherine said reluctantly.18

“Yeah, hey tell your parents I said hi,” I told her in a chokingly way.19

“Ok then they will just love knowing I have a boyfriend that I meet a month ago.” She said sarcastically.20

“Then you will have to come back,” I said smiling.21

“I wish,” She said as she hugged me.22
