My Place Chapter 13

My head was sent spinning when he kissed me. I didn’t want to leave Tyler now that I knew he loved me. I even told him that. I was so confused at the moment. I knew I needed to leave yet I didn’t want to. I needed to clear my head. I stood up and ran for the door.2

I dashed down the stairs and out the door. I ran and ran far from the house. I didn’t know where I was going, but I ran anyways. I heard animals and Tyler’s distant call. I covered my ears and ran. Finally I ran out of breath and dropped to the ground. 3

I started to cry and I couldn’t help it. I looked around and didn’t know where I was, that made me cry even harder. My mind was all jumbled. I tried to sort my thoughts out, but that didn’t work out while I was crying. After the crying stopped I just sat there. 4

Finally I was able to sort my thoughts out. I knew I had to go home and face the fact that I might never see Tyler again. I also knew that I loved him more then what was possible. Was it possible to be normal and ignore your feelings at the same time? I guess I will find out soon.5

I stood up with a deep breath. I brushed my clothes of and wiped my eyes. I looked around and decided to go towards the sound of water. I was getting pretty thirsty anyway. I walked on and on with the sound getting closer. Finally I stepped out into a clearing that looked very familiar. 6

I was back in the clearing I meet Tyler. Tears threatened to start again. I will miss coming here with Tyler. I sat down and watched the water glide over the rocks and twirl. Then I watched a rabbit hop across the clearing. It was peaceful and I was going to miss that. Then I heard a noise in the bushes. I looked up and saw the great deer I talked to my first day here.7

“Catherine what is wrong?” He asked bowing his head.8

“I have to leave and I don’t want to,” I explained with a sob.9

“Why must you go?” He asked with sympathy.10

“The guardian angel came last night and told me,” I said trying not to cry.11

“Well you can’t argue with her, but her take this,” the deer said as he took an antler off.12

“I can’t take your antler.” I said trying to refuse it.13

“If you take it you can see what ever you want,” He explained as he pushed it into my hand.14

“Thank you,” I said as I took it into my hands.15

The antler was hard but smooth to the touch. It was a milky white with cream swirls in it. Brown marks covered it. I looked at the marks closer and found that they are letters. They spelled out a sentence. ‘Murge tonifen losme vena.’ Was what it spelled.16

“What do those words mean?” I asked the deer.17

“That is the spell that makes animals talk. If you say it back words it will take the ability from anything that talks. Be very careful with saying the words. It is the ancient language of elves. You must understand the language before you use it.” He said cautiously.18

“I will be thank you very much I must be going. Tyler will be worried.” I said as I stood up. 19

“I hope to see you again Catherine,” the deer said and turned to run into the woods.20

I stood up and took a deep breath. I was ready to go back to Tyler and say goodbye. I found the path that He showed me the first day. I started down it remembering all the days that we spent together. It seems I spent my whole life her instead of a month. Then I heard a noise. I looked around to see Fresiontin coming.21

“Tin Soldier! I’m so glad to see you!” I exclaimed when I saw him.22

“Tyler said that you ran away and asked me to find you. I figure you would come here.” He explained the reason he was here.23

“Thank you for coming. I was just heading back and I don’t think I’ll be able to get there before it gets dark.” I told him.24

“Hope on,” He said as he turned hi back to me.25

I clutched the antler as I climbed on his back. As soon as I was secure on his back, Tin Soldier galloped down the path. The winds swooshed pass me. It was pulling my hair behind me. I felt free to fly away. I laughed with joy and freedom. With my new friend I was going to be able to face my parents.26

The next thing I knew I was at Tyler’s house. Tyler came running out of the house when he heard me coming. Relief showed on his face. 27
