The Language of Heaven

I spoke in tongues today (Corinthians Chapters 2, 12, 14)1

I don't think people understand2

I've had visions3

People think I'm crazy4

Or am being a drama queen5

I'm not joking, or acting6

This is me, and I'm not the one speaking7

If the Holy Spirit wishes to use me8

To pray through9

Very well, I'll let it happen10

But I don't think it's fair11

When they only people I expected to care12

Were the ones giving me the vibe13

Like I was a freak.14

Hypocrites15

If I told them every time they were being strange16

They wouldn't be my friends anymore17

I love them18

I want them to understand19

And not say things that make me feel20

Like I shouldn't be there21

I'm not crazy22

I'm not disturbed23

I'm not strange24

I've been given a gift25

I'm going to let God do with it as he wills26

So who are you to say27

That I'm crazy28

The Holy Spirit speaks in a mysterious tongue29

Through the bodies of people30

It has a name, a title, a label31

The Language of Heaven32

Spoken through me

this is personal to me

Speaking in tongues is a normal part of the church service for me. I guess I've made a lot of friends of like-mind. I was married to a man, though, who totally didn't understand, perhaps that was why our own communication was lacking. Our marriage failed, but there is still peace between us.

Thanks for sharing this. It is very personal. I can tell.

    God bless you.

Yes, this happens to me. Most of my friends (except my boyfriend) are atheist. They don't understand. They don't try to understand.

This poem is really deep, and it's so touching. It's amazing and I seriously want to see more of stuff like this from you! Your wording was so intelligent, and I'm amazed by your work. This story is freaking good. And you seriously need to write more! Lol.

    Keep up the good work,
    -Brian.

    Whoo this is really deep.
I liked it, and especially the syntax that you used for it (with the whole stream of conciousness).
Just really good, and really deep...
