Worst case scenario 1 1/2

Allow me to elaborate on my town. My small city has one bridge to the north. The bridge separates two sections of town. The west flat and the east flat. The east flat is considered the industrial area of town. This is due to the amount of business development that has occurred in the past 5 years. Despite the development half of the west flat community is on welfare. Is it due to the laziness of the people? Perhaps it's the other half of the question. What is wrong with this town?1

My experiences have given me some of the answer. Despite the development jobs are still too few. The people who needed them are always swept aside. The privileged are the employer’s families and friends. The rest of the jobs go to young high school students. Despite experiencing my own back stabbing. My intention was to let go of the past. 2

But that changed nearly one year after the murder. Once again I has been doing laundry when a young women walked in. She approached the counter where my sister-in-law greeted her. The women and I stared at one another until she walked away and sat down.3

I could feel my heart racing. The memory of the women was fresh. Her name was Emily and she was the assistant manager of my former workplace. 4

My sister-in-law was cleaning as Emily sat down. My sister-in-law was a nice women, she would happily make conversation with anyone. I watched as they talked. Occasionally they would stop to see if I was watching. Half an hour later my sister-in-law approached me. “Emma wants to speak to you"5
