chapter one:
awakening 1

Number Eight opened his eyes slowly. The first thing he caught sight of was the ceiling. High above him it was made of hardened steel. With a grunt of effort he rolled his head to the left. He found a wall made of the same material. Rolling to the right he caught sight of a pair of wide almond eyes.2

”Hello?” She said in a whisper of a voice. He whimpered in response, vocal cords not strong enough to respond properly. 3

“You look like him.” she whispered, touching his sandy blond hair with her small pale fingeres. ″You look just like Seven but you’re not him.”4

Eight watched as tears filled up those beautiful eyes. He instantly wanted to comfort her, to tell her it would be okay. But, he couldn't. 5

Instead he reached a shaking hand up to her porcelain face. At his touch tears begin to fall out from behind those dark lashes. He felt a cold droplet hit his cheek and within it he could feel her sadness.6

She was crying earnestly now. She leaned down burying her face against his bare chest. 7

"Six?" a voice said above them.8

They both looked up. Standing above them was a man with bushy red hair and an even bushier beard. He was plump and pink in the face wearing a white lab coat stretched tightly over his ample stomach.9

"Hi Caric." The girl greeted, wiping her eyes and trying to pull her self together. She sat up, wipeing at the wet steaks her tears had left on the boys stomach. 10

"Good morning to you Six." he said good-naturedly. "I've got breakfast in the hall, just wanted to check on number Eight."11

Eight watched as he left the room returning with a tray. Cereal and an apple for Six and applesauce for him. He did the best he could to feed him self, motor skill not quite there yet. Caric just sat there, writing and watching as they ate. When they where done he gathered the dishes. As he was about to leave he turned to Six. “Galen will be by personally today to do some test." She bit her lip and nodded. 12

This time there was a different look in her eyes. Something in the back of his mind told him it was called fear.13

They where both asleep when he came. “Up! Now!” He roared. His foot swung and met with Eights thigh. His eyes shot open and he scooted back, away from the angry man. He grabbed Six’s arm, awakening her as well. She looked up at Galen with fearful eyes. 14

The man in front of him had slanted eyes like the girl but he had wrinkles all over his face. He had sparse hair on his head. He had a harsh look and a harsher attitude. This was the man who had created him. He had seen glimpses of him through the tube he was and learned all the language he knew from listening to him give orders to his subordinates. 15

“What the hell are you looking at?!” He growled, glaring at the two of them. “Get up and moving!” 16

Six looked up at him, fear again in her eyes. “S-sir, where to?” She stuttered, obviously afraid she’d anger him with the question. 17

“To the Experimentation room!” He yelled, hand swinging across her face. She whimpered, hand going to her cheek. “What have I told you about stupid questions?! Get Going!” 18

“Th-the experim-mentaion room.” She stammered as she rose to her feet. She struggled to pulled Eight up with her. 19

He brushed past them, breezing out the room. “I’ll go get ready. Don’t make me wait!”20

She started to follow him, pulling Eight along. He tried to take steps as she did. Tried to follow the same pattern of movement with his feet.21

“Need some help lil lady?” Caric asked, easily lifting Eight from her. They made there way to the room and stood awkwardly at the door way. “Come in, get on the tables.” Galen said with a wicked smile. Six obediently walked forward sitting down on one of the giant metal tables. 22

Eight just stood there, staring wide-eyed around the room. A table in the center was covered in sharp looking objects, knives and xactos and needles and objects he couldn’t think of what there name even was. 23

“What are you doing today?” Caric asked, voicing the question Eight could not. 24

“I have a new type of cream that should help speed healing, but first we gotta make some wounds to put it on, correct?” Carick didn’t say any thing, just frowned slightly as he left the room. 25

“So…” Galen walked towards the boy. “You figured out how to speak yet?” 26

He shook his head, edging backwards. Galen grabbed his wrist, pulling him towards him. “Don’t worry, by the end of this session you’ll at least know how to scream.” 27

Oh, wow. This was really good. I was skeptical at first, because you made a lot of grammatical mistakes that kind of made it hard to figure out who was who and who the narrator was, but wow...

I really like it so far ^^
