After weeks of grueling training five of the six rangers had formed a very close knit group and kept trying to corral their 6th into being more open with them. However Shadow kept her distance; this of course only made the other rangers all the more eager to merge. In order to prove to their distant member just how important she was to them; to perhaps get round the barriers that she carefully maintained and kept.1
Of course this annoyed Stance no end; in order to get the result he wanted he had to have them co-operate and trust each other explicitly. It was then that a rather nasty thought struck him; why not force them to spend time together. But instead of as individuals, he would make them merge as Pathfinder and keep them there until they showed some semblence of getting along. 'Yes that would work' he thought to himself; no-one had really ever tried to keep a geasult together, as it was containing the group would be difficult, but not undoable. The helicopter set about making his plans smirking all the while; he would not fail in this project he was sure of it!2
A week later Stance had managed to get the necessairy modifications done to the groups combiner systems so that instead of them merging for a short time to allow the new personality to emerge and take form; they would merge for longer; allowing the new personality to intergrate itself into them and making them intergrate with each other. No secrets could be kept in a geasult group and no barriers could be maintained for long. Stance was certain that this would work; that this would succeed where all else had failed. They would become a team and they would become the best geasult team in the whole of the decepticon army.3
Now as he looked over the six team-members Stance wondered if he should have taken them somewhere more secure like the middle of Darkmount fortress, but he brushed it off no need to worry about something as silly as that; he knew they would not dare to harm him. With a pleased smile Stance adressed the six (five of which seemed to be barely containing their excitement; the sixth looked like she would rather be anywhere else right now). It was odd really; they seemingly had all forgotten who they had been before all memory of their previous lives and the previous personalities had dissapeared with out a trace over the last few weeks. The had seemingly left it all behind tossing what they once had away to embrace their new lives. It was almost as if their lives had not begun until they had awoken in that room together as the strange earth based creatures they were now; as if their previous lives had meerly lead up to this point. From Stance's persective; while it was odd it was also a Primus-send becuase it made them that much more eager to work together. Clearing his vocaliser Stance gave the command.4
"It is time! Ranger's....merge!"5
At this the Ranger's leapt into action. Windwhisper and Saber pounced forward folding into a pair of legs, Beedrill jumped up folding into the upper legs and initiating the spark links, next Shadow with a mighty wingbeat launched into the air folding up to become the torso; it was at this point that both Darkclaw and Sky also flew into the air folding in on themselves to become Pathfinder's arms as they attached to the torso; some of their feathers detached from themselves and reattached to Shadow's (now Pathfinder's) wings, making them bigger as they streatched out Pathfinder's head appeared.6
Inside him at this point the sparklinks finished their fusion and all six were intimately aware of each other. Not even Shadow could keep up her barriers for long as they all slipped into a great collective consiencenss, they were now irrivercibly joined together and they would be for the rest of their lives; nothing and no-one could change that. They began to tentatively explore each other's minds finding out things about each other learning who and what they were; all semblence of self and who was who was lost as they became one thinking unit; a single entity made from six.7
It was now once all six were fused that Stance's links kicked in holding the Rangers together so they could not escape the merge.8
There was no sign of this outwardly as Pathfinder's optics came on line and the geasult awoke.
