*~Ada Michellano~* Part One

*~P*r*o*l*o*g*u*e~*1

Hi. How’s it going? My names Ada Michellano (usually abbreviated to simply Ada Mich, Addy or Ads) and this is… a story. About me. Hmm. 2

Anyway, the reason I decided to write this is because my life has absolutely zero purpose. I have a life just like any other thirteen year old girl who lives with her mum (I’ve never met my dad, but more on that later). I eat, I sleep, I hang out with my friends, I go to school, and I come home. That pretty much tops it.3

And it has absolutely no meaning.4

I only realized this the other day when I was walking home from school (“We live close enough to the school for you to get yourself there!” says my mum- she’s never heard of stranger danger, obviously- and walks out of the room) and I was thinking about me. Usually I think about what’s happened during the day at school- who’s started fighting, who’s decided to do a runner, who’s finally got a boyfriend, etc- but today I decided to think about what happened to myself as opposed to what happened to other people with more exciting lives than me, blonde, boring Ada Kirrily Michellano (I try to pretend the Kirrily doesn’t exist most of the time). 5

And I realized, as I was thinking about myself, that there wasn’t much to think about. Nothing really happens to me. I am a boring human being, a useless little five foot four individual. 6

So I decided to make something happen for me, about me, to me. I decided to write a story. Our English teacher, Miss Garner, is always blabbing on about my ability to invent ‘captivating plots’ and ‘heart stopping suspense’. Well then, let’s see how much drama and captivation and suspense I can invent out of my own life (not much.)7

Thing is, when you write things down about yourself you realize that they mean a lot more than you originally thought they did when those things happened. And if you get bored you can flip back through the pages (or scroll through Microsoft Word, in this case) and see the things you knew and thought in previous days, and get embarrassed at some of the more stupid or dorky stuff you said or did that you thought was smart at the time but when you look back it’s incredibly stupid. 8

Well, it gives you something to do with your time.9

So, with that in mind, I’ve decided to solemnly swear, right here during the prologue ( a word my aunty Becca taught me, by the way) that I will not erase or backspace or delete any of the stuff I write or say in this blog. Cool or what? Ok, not really cool. Not at all cool, in fact, but it’ll make sure I don’t stuff anything up. 10

This is gonna be a dated blog, by the way. Starting from tomorrow, the fifteenth of March, this is going to be something I actually put some effort into regarding myself and my feelings (although I’ll censor out some words that might be a little more… uhh… controversial that I say by accident.11

Anyway, better go. It’s time for me to get ready for bed. 12

See ya.13

Friday the 16th of March, 200715

G’day again, it’s Ada. Or any of the names I specified in the earlier prologue. Whatever.16

Today was a Friday, as I’ve already told you, which is the day that every week the Year Eights go to the big assembly hall for the Year Eight weekly assembly, where the teachers inform us of whose bag was the latest to be stolen and what problems the Year Eights have been causing this week and to inform us once more that if the headmaster of the school can pick up rubbish (suck up) then why should it be so hard for us?17

This week’s hot topic at the assembly was next Wednesday’s camp, starting on (you guessed it) Wednesday and finishing on Saturday afternoon. 18

The camp’s going to happen at some bush camp in Busselton that’s right next to the beach. The teachers and all the kids who stand quietly in line and eat all their canteen vegetables, etc organized the entire thing, something that I found rather impressive, considering how I can barely organize my sock drawer and they’re organizing a camp, which is slightly larger, more extensive and more drawn out than my sock drawer, funnily enough.19

Anyway, according to my older sister Year Eight camp was fun, except for the surfing (she saw a dolphin and freaked out, screaming and running back to camp, but seeing as it was only a dolphin she got in loaddds of trouble with the teachers for being ‘rowdy’ and causing a disturbance you’d usually get from a level 8 earthquake (level 8? Scale 8? Whatever). 20

Anyway, while this was going on during assembly, I absent-mindedly started playing with Lucy’s hair, which made her turn around, momentarily look at me then look away, tossing her hair and whipping me in the face by accident (I know it was an accident, since Lucy doesn’t have a mean bone in her body) causing me to jump in shock, making my chair jump with me and fall back with me on it, and eventually I ended up splayed all over the floor with my chair on top of me (thank God I was wearing my sport shorts, or else it would’ve been embarrassing) .21

Actually, it was embarrassing anyway, because everyone was staring at me lying there on the floor…22

At the feet of this guy who I have a massive crush on, Tim Cooper. And who everyone knows I like. Well, my life is a laughing stock now- maybe that’s my purpose in life, to serve as a cautionary example to others. (What a cliché thing to say).23

Please tell me what you think, I really appreciate it and I know its not the world's smartest story but hey, I'm 12, Whaddaya expect.

Can I just point out that it was about midnight when I wrote this (it's the holidays) so its largely due to that if it's stuffed up.
