The wind sat idle for hours in the night. From the east the ocean galloped and reflected through-out the sky. A sky so bright full of stars and the 16 planets around our own, Earth2. Fire works shot from random, peaceful kids along the beach nearly every given night. The sweet smell of the air smothered my nose setting my mood to a calm neutral self for few moments. Beautiful colors filled the sky, rising and then lowering losing their color and glimmer just as a star losing its blaze. I lay quietly and relaxed, sunk deep into the tall grass. My hands were used as a pillow for my head and the grass a mattress for my back. My eyes shut tight seeming as if I had been looking for thoughts on the other side of my eyelids, using them as a door to my mind. Occasionally id glance to the sky looking for random events to take action, but they were rare, besides the fire works. I lay quietly enjoying the sound of crickets breaking the silence. My mind told me how I loved this planet and how its scenario echoed the same pattern all around its lands. Hard to believe that all the lands of Earth2 were identical to this, it felt as if I had been placed here by God for a reason only understandable by him. My mind is yet enough wisdom to even think such things. My first goal for this new experience was to find my purpose of being here. Who am I? What is my name? Suddenly I stood up and began to panic. I had realized that I had awakened from lying unconsciously on the ground with no memory of anything. What had happened? Who had done this to me? Or was it a self accident? I wondered in fear of what had happened when the sound of footsteps came to my ears. Lights flashed as they got closer to me. Soon the lights were shining upon my face. Two men dressed in uniform armor approached me pointing flashlights at me. The light reflected off the silver earrings in my ears. I noticed I had also been wearing uniform armor just as they were. I had no words to speak and waited for them to say something. “Hurry up soldier! Get moving back to the squad, were raiding Earth1.” Lights and voices caught my attention down the hill hiding behind few trees. I looked back at the 2 men as they waited impatiently and glaring at me. Before my mind could comprehend it, my legs had been moving down the hill towards the lights. The 2 men followed me but then stopped for a moment as I kept moving and hoping I was headed in the right direction to the squad. “Hold on there soldier!” One of the men shouted. My body froze but my mind raced on with thoughts of what he wanted. I came to reality and realized I was intimidated by these men and their ways of even speaking simple words. But clearly I was not before, seeming that I too was just like them due to mine and their dress code coincidence. “You forgot your fire arm!” I turned around and looked at the men with relief. The soldier pulled a long rifle out from the tall grass. He turned and looked at me. “Pull it together already! We don’t need slackers coming along joy riding on our missions!” He shouts as he tossed the fire arm in my direction. I jumped forward, catching it, resting it on my shoulder and turning around. I continued my pace as did they, Passing under trees and the bluish moon above, I came to a group of men surrounding a campfire for warmth. It was to no surprise to me that their uniforms were identical to mine. As I looked at the soldiers my eyes caught with one in particular female sitting at the fire. She stood and began to walk towards me shouting, “Alex!” Suddenly my eyes froze and soon after shut tight. I looked into my mind, remembering this girl, a deer friend of mine and a great, dependable partner in combat. As little of it that we did, she had been there in combat and in relation. “Her name was…” I thought to myself. “Jennifer. Yeah, and I am Alex.” These memories that I had just retrieved gave me excitement in regaining my memory whole again but it would take longer then I expected, I remembered the past Jennifer and I had. IT was full of cheerful emotion, down to cold heart breakers. But over all we had stuck together through it all. Although, my physical attraction and emotionless love for her has never been put to rest and still flows in me. Her pace of walking had turned into a run. When she came to me she pushed on me with a hug that lasted for seconds, seeming like minutes, maybe to me at least. Her golden hair suffocated my face but had an implacable scent, so sweet yet so painful in memories. Her blue eyes dazzled and brought past pictures into mine. She let go of me and began to ramble on about nonsense. “Where have you been? I was worried sick after you—“ She was immediately interrupted by the roaring engine of the star ship that had been awaiting us. “Ah forget it, sit with me on the flight to Earth1, okay?” She asked. Without saying anything, I gave her a nod and we headed to the ship. But what is earth1? 1
Is it any different from Earth2? I seemed to remember where I was on Earth2 and the 16 planets but for some reason I couldn't’t think of the other planets and their names. What had happened to me? When will I be able to answer all these questions I keep asking myself? We walked to the ship and centered ourselves in the ordered line of the squad just outside of the shuttle ramp. I had no idea what was going on so I waited, following Jennifer’s movements. From the shuttle ramp came the sound of footsteps. I looked around noticing the whole squad had a hand in the center of their chest. It appeared to be a symbol for something, the quad symbol maybe, or possibly the galaxy symbol? I didn’t know what it stood for but I remember always doing it before and after missions, just like this. Down from the shuttle ramp a man came, dressed in the same style of uniform as ours but with more fancy to it. With him came a beast that walked on 4. Fangs as thick as a twig yet as sharp as a needle hung from its mouth. I watched this beast for a while noticing the blood stains on its teeth and fur. I noticed the men standing in line began to shiver, obviously at the thought of this beast. The man came along the line of us and paced back and fort. He pulled from his pouch pocket a highly detailed and expensive information data-pad. He began to call names out and in reply the men would shout out “Aye!” “Jennifer Lyze.” The man said. Jennifer, to my left, yelled, “Aye!” In reply. “Alex Lyze… Alex Lyze!” Jennifer kicked me in the shin when I realized that was no other than me. But the same last name as her? We never went as far as marriage, I’m sure of that. I came to my senses after a while and shouted, “Aye!” The man stopped calling names for a moment and glared upon me sending a stainless image deep inside of me. He continued what seemed to be a roll call, reading the names off of his data-pad, and finally finishing up. We began to head into the ship, slowly walking at a boring pace. Seats filled the edges of the walls. The squad all took their seats as Jennifer and I sat close to the back of the ship. Engines roared and the ship immediately took off barely having enough time to shut the ramp and fasten our selves into our seats. The ship turned from a horizontal movement to a dangle movement. I held tight with fear written all over my face. Jennifer looked at me and asked, “What’s the matter with you?” I shut my eyes and tried it keep calm. “I’m just a little paranoid about this mission, that’s all.” She looked at me and giggled a little. “You’re paranoid? Sense when was the last time you got scared over a small mission like this?” I gave no response to her. She shrugged and closed her eyes hoping for some rest before we arrive. I turned and looked out the window made of some thick material. Rising so high we came to an ocean of clouds, one after another, looking so beautiful and soft without any intention. Soon we rose from the planets atmosphere. The sun stared at us, quietly calling my name like a giant ruby. All 17 planets so beautifully placed around us. 2

Wow, great story. I'm not usually one for long reads as I can't keep my attention together for it but I have to say this held it very well. The descriptions you gave were terrific, and the ending was as well.
