Patient

I feel terribly patient today as I sit still for the doctor, stabbing a needle into my arm. Two years ago, I would have writhed and screamed. But not today. I'm terribly patient. 1

I say, “I hear the girl in the next room is having a tea party with the dead.”
I say, “I can hear her speaking and laughing like a mad person through the vents.” 2

Crazy, they call me. But who are they to say I am crazy when they are the ones who cannot hear the girl in the next room. 3

Crazy, crazy, crazy...
