Chapter One

I could smell his blood the first time he walked into the building. So sweet smelling... it taunted me! He walked into the classroom and sat down next to me. I looked at him and it made me cringe. Not because he was ugly, but because he was so gorgeous... and he smelled so good.1

"Hi, My name is Edward. Might I ask what your name is?" He said quietly. 2

"I'm Liz." I choked out. 3

"You okay?" He asked me. He seemed like he was very worried about me for some reason. "Do I smell bad or something?" He asked smelling himself.4

"Yes, I'm okay. No you don't smell bad... it's just... You smell very good to me..." I looked away from him. He just looked at me like I was crazy. "It's hard to explain... Forget I even said that." I blushed. Well, I sort of blushed. Honestly, I haven't had a good meal in days, so my blood was running thin.5

"Um... Thanks for the compliment?" he laughed.6

"I'm sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable... it's just... hard to explain what's going through my head right now..."7

Edward's POV8

I just looked at Liz for a moment. My gosh, she was beautiful! Her skin perfect and pale. Flawless! Perfect eyes, lips... just... everything about her so beautiful. Her eyes were so beautifully dark... I just got lost in them. Then she broke the silence. "I'm sorry... I have to do something real fast!" she said and bolted out of her seat and ran into the hall. "Yeah, that Liz is a strange character..." Someone said. "Hi, I'm Alan. What's your name?" "I'm Edward!"9

Liz's POV10

I had to get out of that room! The smell of his blood was getting the best of me! I just can't get away from it though!!! "AUGH!" I cringed. I pulled the vial of blood out of my purse and sipped on it. "You okay Liz?" My sister Alice asked.11

"Yes, I'm okay... just... you know that new kid? Well, I can SMELL his blood... and..." I stopped midsentence. Someone else walked out of the classroom. It was Alan. Man, I don't like him, he's nothing but a stuck up ass wipe! If my sister would let me, I'd bite him and kill him off... but... I'm abiding by the rules.12

I walked back into the classroom with Alan and Alice. Alice Likes Alan, another reason I won't kill him off. I don't see why she likes him... I guess it's his blood... he does have good smelling blood as well. If anything, SHE is going to be the one to bite him. "Class, get settled down." the teacher said. "Edward Cullen, I see you've made it alright. You can sit there next to Elizabeth Swan." I cringed at that. Edward seems very nice, but... his blood taunts me! He sat down and I tried to scoot as far as I could away from him. The bell finally rang and I bolted out of the classroom and got home before anyone else did. 13

"What the hell is your problem?!" Alice yelled to me when she walked throught he door. 14

"I'm sorry! I just couldn't stand being around his blood! it TAUNTS ME!!!!" I screamed. Yeah, I can see it coming. Alice is going to start fighting with me now.15

"Then ask to be moved away from him!" she yelled back at me. I just ignored her and walked off into my room and shut the door. I found my ipod and turned it on. "A Vampire's Lament" was the song that came on first. I let the music blare in my ears for a good hour at the least. Then I went downstairs to get some blood to drink. Much to my surprise, Alan was over... and more to my surprise was...16

"I know this is going to sound weird coming from me, but... I think I'd rather have Liz than you... as weird as she may be." He said to her. Oh shit, he's in for it now! She just stared at him with her jaw hanging... and worse, her fangs showing. "Wow, you have some sharp teeth." he examined.17

"I know I do... you want to know why? I'm a vampire sweetie... and so is my dear little sister. You want to know why she was so wigged this morning in class? She could smell Edward's blood... and it was TAUNTING HER!" she growled. Alan looked like he was about ready to run out of the house now. If it hadn't been for Alice holding him down on the couch, he probably WOULD have! 18

"Why didn't you tell me this before?" He asked. 'oh, let me see... because you and your big mouth will go and tell the whole frikking SCHOOL?!' I thought. Alice just smiled at him and then leaned into him even more. "What the hell are you doing?!" he said as she put her teeth into his neck. 19

"Alice! what the hell are you doing?!" I screeched. She ignored me and just bit Alan. 'Oh god! I can't stand this!' I thought to myself smelling his blood. I just stood there helplessly watching her sucking the life out of him. That's when everything went black.
