Red Mistress Pt. 2

Lillith sat at the four-tiered fountain, staring at the stone walk way at approximately two o’clock in the morning, resting from her training. She was only a mere sixteen years, and hated every bit of it. But then again, if you lost your friend, found your mother was seeking to kill you, and then so much more than that, wouldn’t you hate life like she did? She took a breath and stood up again. Her right hand grasped around the blade of her training sword, which, in reality was a real sword but Lillith left training with wooden swords four years ago. Her black waist length hair swayed gently in the night wind, brushing against her arms. She looked up slowly with a sigh escaping her crimson lips. 1

“Oh...if only..” She shook her head and looked around the moon-lit garden at all the red roses that appeared black. She then turned her head to her mansion, most of the lights turned on from her training. She sighed once more and slowly sauntered towards her place, her eyes closed. As she entered her grand, greecian-revival mansion with an eclectic flair interior, a solemn sigh pushed through her lips. She ran her hand through her flowing black hair, but it fell down again, cascading past her cheeks.  Out of the blue, a door to her parlor shut, echoing because of the tile and high ceiling. 2

She quirked an eyebrow, walking cautiously towards the parlor, still gripping her blade, prepared for any possible attack. As she turned into the parlor, concealed by the shadows, she saw it was only her sister, a warrior. She let out a sigh of relief, sheathing her sword, “Mina, my dear, what are you doing here so…er…early in the morning?” She glanced towards a mahogany-made grand-father clock.3

“Only to tell you that I’m dating Arthras for a secret-mission.” 4

“You’re WHAT?!” Lillith hissed lightly as her sea-green eyes flashed in anger, “How could you do such…such…such a THING?”5

“It’s to help you.” Her sister snapped back.6

“To help me?! Sister, he was the cause for our mother betray-”7

“Shah, Lillith.” Her Aunt’s voice rang out in an almost impatient manner, “So, Mina, I do see you did accept those orders. Very interesting indeed.” The queen smiled walking towards Mina. Mina didn’t bow, seeing as she wasn’t ‘part of that kingdom’.8

Her sister was not really the epitome of a rogue, but at the same time the perfect example. Mina glanced at her sister, whom she was just reunited with. She smiled a bit and looked back at the queen.9

“No. I didn’t take up any orders. Yevon has not spoken to me in…weeks.” She glared at the queen, insulted by the fact that the queen could ever consider her to ‘take orders’.10

“It’s all in the head, Mina.” Queen Lilith tapped her forehead with her index finger, smirking a bit. The queen turned on her heel and walked off with her footsteps echoing.11

Lillith walked up to her sister, “Why?”12

“Because, it’ll give you the perfect chance to get him.” 13

“Mina, I can’t get him at this point. I have other people to deal with.”14

“Lillith, it’s either now or never. He’s planning on leaving in five months. If you don’t kill him in that matter of time, you’ll miss your chance and you will never get it. And of course, if he leaves, I have to leave- I can’t get a divorce with the king of the crystal knights. You know the crystal knight laws well.”15

Lillith’s right eye twitched in agitation, “LEAVING?!” She screamed, “Why in the world would he be leaving if he is King? He has an army to rule…”16

“Kill him before he leaves, and then…” She smirked a bit.17

Arching her brow, Lillith studied her sister silently, “Ah…” She sighed softly, “Right. Me…a-”18

“Yes, you, queen of the Crystal Knights, wouldn’t it be great?”19

“No, Mina, it wouldn’t be. It would probably  be easier for people to kill me.”20

“You’re a vampire, Lillith. They know you’re related directly to the queen of vampires. If any Crystal Knight dare tries to kill you, that’s treason, AND, on top of that, they’d be dealing with the queen and the royal family or...”21

"You mean what’s left of the royal family, Mina. You know damn good and well that people hate us for just being vampires. They’re out to kill us. You know… those little things” She spat out 'things' as if it was something profane, “called Vampire Hunters.”22

Mina nodded, “I understand Lillith, but-”23

“I’ve had enough of this conversation. I have a governor to meet up with.”24

“Night.”25

“Right.” Lillith walked off towards the basement to grab her more weaponry, which consisted of a .45 Colt, twin blades, a katana which is a Japanese samurai sword, and some poisoned arrows with her bow. 26

Lillith now stood in the forest, not far from her mansion (only about five miles off). Her arms were folded over her breasts, and her eyes were closed, yet her ears were listening for any sounds- even the sound of a mouse on the ground. Her eyes snapped open, and began to search the area. 27

“Eh..Mm. Er…uhm..”28

“Just call me Lillith, damnit.” She sneered lightly, looking up at an obese man, who looked like he had had his face beaten in a couple of times with a bat. 29

“Uh, yes, Lillith. Here is the money, as I agreed to pay…all in cash.” He smiled nervously and set the brief case, which supposedly contained her pay, on the ground. Lillith, out of experience, backed up somewhat from the brief case.30

“Open it up.” She nodded to the case, gripping the hilt of her katana for any thing that the fat man would want to pull.31

“Yes, yes.” The man popped open the case, grunting a bit. He appeared to be in pain when he stood back up. It was almost as if his knees could fail him any minute, “Twenty thousand dollars for the assassination.” 32

“If there is one dollar missing, even just one, I will have your head displayed on my wall.” She glared at him ferociously, her eyes as cold as ice.33

The man gulped, “Yes...yes ma’am.”34

“It’s Lillith.” She then jerked her head over to the bush near here, “Set it there. I’ll be back at precisely 3:00 AM. No minute early, or less. The governor will be dead at around 2:30.” She turned around and walked away, leaving the man to stare at her while his cold sweat dripped down his face and onto his fancy micro-fiber suit. 35

Lillith sat patiently in the gardens at the governor’s mansion, waiting for him to see his guests. Or well, guest, rather. Lillith made a mock-letter of a princess in a far away land, that didn’t even exist to trick the governor to see the Queen and King of this new land for marriage purposes. The governor was a complete moron. He didn’t care about what ‘country he would be able to rule’. He got the money. That’s all he needed. And in the process, got a lovely long lady to bear his children, which he'd forget about in a weeks time after their birth. For him, that’s what he wanted. That’s what he thought he was going to get. But instead, Lillith had his death in store. In his case, that would probably be the best Christmas present ever for him, because there were many more assassins out for him, many of them with more grotesque ways of killing.36

Soon, the young governor was sauntering out to the gardens where Lillith sat patiently. He looked around, humming. A smirk was gracing his lips. A smirk that Lillith would be sure to turn into…well, let’s just say…nothing.37

“Where…in the..” The governor muttered.38

“Over here.” Lillith called out, standing up. 39

“There was to be a party of three. Not one…unless…” A devilish grin spread across his young features.40

“No. Only one. Well, two, if you count death.” Lillith replied, walking over to the perverted, arrogant, and greedy governor.41

“Death?” The governor, “I laugh at death. Death could never come to me. It fears me.”42

“Oh really now? Is that so, Mr. Rakaine? I could have sworn it is creeping up near you right at this moment.” Lillith now only stood a few inches from the man, whose eyes were glossing over at the sight of her very feminine body. Little did he know that Lillith was concentrating on getting her weapons from where she sat. 43

“Oh, it's true.” He reached his hand up to Lillith’s breast, for a firm squeeze.44

“I should ask more for this.” Lillith responded as she felt his hand on her breast as her katana flew towards her. She gripped the handle, and unsheathed it.45

The governor, who heard the hum of metal being slid across more metal and now very perplexed, kept his hand on Lillith’s chest, “How much did that cost?”46

“Does it matter?” She swung the sword at him, backing up somewhat. She set it to his stomach, “Sweet dreams.”47

She then thrust the sword forewards, into his stomach. He let out a gasp, and a weezing sound, that made Lillith wince a bit. But she then regained her assassin composure. Just before the man died, Lillith bent over and licked his wound for a night treat. Taking the sword out of his stomach, she cleaned it with the back of his suit jacket, making her way out of the man’s tainted property, humming a song her aunt would sing occasionally.48
