Alexis sits in her mother's rocking chair, alone in the dark room. As she rocks slightly to and fro, she watches the drops of rain fall so carelessly from the sky. Falling into puddles creating ripples with contact. Her mind begins to wander...1
Within the puddles she envisions, bright yellow rain boots, jumping wildly in the rain. Creating miniature waves withing natures hundreds of miniature ponds. Within those boots are the legs once belonging to Alexis, yet the mere age of seven. Long brown wavy hair, enormous blue eyes and her pretty pink rain gear her mother purchased. For these precise moments. Alexis is holding her mother's hand, as in unison they plunge from puddle to puddle. 2
All you can hear is the splashing of boots, and the laughter of mother and child. Creating an eternal bond and memory. Alexis looks up to her mother, while starring into her emerald green eyes and flashing a smile the size of a watermelon. Tells her she is the best mom. She will never forget the look of joy and gratitude on her mother's face, when she returned with. You are the best daughter, and squeezed her with a big bear hug. Then grabbing her hand again to plunge into more puddles.3

Alexis shakes her head back to the present. Her aunt has come to the door. She is her to inform her the funeral is about to begin. She can come downstairs or stay in her mother's room. Alexis glances out the window one last time, while grabbing a photograph of her mother on the bureau. "I love you mom, You were the best."5

Just a story idea that came to mind, one night lying in bed unable to sleep. Hope you enjoy it.
My mother taught me if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it at all. Here for fun please respect that as I respect you. Thank you.
