Hi Heather.
I changed the melody to the second part of the chorus slightly and developed a melody for the verses. I think it works pretty well. I'll try to record it in the next day or so. I hope you'll like it.

You said you have a melody? Have you recorded it and is it posted on the net? Lyrics and melody make a complete song, arrangements will vary and their copyright can be registered, but lyrics and melody can stand on their own.
I'd like to hear it.
The chorus seems quite good and I would guess it to be country or folk.
