End of Days

As the rain trickled down their wary faces, Mavros and Nekro fought with all their might and skill. Nekro used his sword, Medusa, to slash at Mavros. By now Mavros had grown quite accustomed to his sword Psychi. He knew the ways of the sword. He had finally mastered Psychi enough to use it in this final epic battle. As Nekro slashed down upon Mavros, Mavros shifted to the right and connected Psychi with Medusa. Sparks began to flicker as the sword’s bare metal faces collided.1

“You can’t overpower me Mavros. I shall destroy you as I did your father.” Nekro provoked. He quickly back flipped, providing space between him and Mavros for another attack, and lunged forward with his mighty legs to pursue an attempt at stabbing Mavros in his exposed heart. Realizing that he had mere nano-seconds to move, Mavros quickly rotated his wrist and followed through tossing aside Medusa with a flurry of sparks. In doing so, Mavros had succeeded in creating an open striking point amongst Nekro and acted upon it.2

With right arm across his body and the blade of Psychi pointing backward, Mavros thrust the handle of the sword into Nekro’s chest forcing the wind out of him. He then followed up by dropping his hand down low enough for the blade to slide along the ground and then quickly thrust the handle of Psychi into the neck of Nekro cutting off his air supply. Mavros then followed that up by completing a 360-degree roundhouse kick to the abdominal region of Nekro sending him back to land on his ass.3

After those three powerful attacks, Nekro was severely wounded and almost unable to continue this battle. He couldn’t believe what had just happened. As he struggled to breathe he began to stall for time, “You are your father’s son. That much is for sure. I can see his fighting spirit in your eyes and his eternal flame of hatred in your heart. You remember your father don’t you”, Nekro questioned rudely.4

“I remember my father as he was before you murdered him in cold blood” Mavros retorted. “I have nothing more to say to you. GET UP AND FINISH WHAT HAS BEEN STARTED” Mavros angrily shouted. Before Mavros had finished those words he lunged for Nekro and Medusa attempting to uncross his arm by slashing back across his body. The blade went swiftly and briskly from left to right in anticipation of new bloodshed. Mavros could feel Psychi’s excitement. With just an inch left until he made contact with Nekro’s exposed skin, I realize I should explain whom Nekro and Mavros are and more importantly how they got to be where they are now… 5
