Beer Can

Why do you hate me so much? My mind spins as my face hits the ground again. What have I done to deserve this? Blood drips down my forehead and splashes on to the ground. I look up and all I can see is your smile. Your sick laughter fills my ears as your boot connects again with my face. I should be used to this by now. It's the same thing every day. I knew I shouldn't have come home from school. At least, only my heart bleeds when I'm there. Okay, try to focus on something else. Think about that kid that called you fat today. Think about how you pushed him...
A blow to the back of my head makes me cry out in pain. The laughter again. I wish I could drown out that laughter. I could go crazy having to hear it. My persecutor screams something. I can't understand him. Not when he gets like this. I try to scream back, but I can't move my split lip. It's too painful.
Alright, focus. What about that teacher? Yeah, the one who commented on my clothes. The whole class laughed that time. They're always laughing at me. I wish I understood why. What's wrong with me? Why is everyone always laughing? I don't even remember how to laugh.
I watch his fist come down again. I put up my arm to try and shield my face. Even though I know it won't do any good. He grabs my wrist and twists. I hear a crack and pain shoots through my arm.
What did I do to make him so angry with me? Oh, that's right. I broke another plate. I'd been so jumpy and my hands were shaking so badly. And when I heard him come through the door, the plate had slipped.
The blows began slowing down. And just as quickly as it had started, the attack was over. He swore at me under his breath. Something about "fat bitch". Here was my chance. I stayed very still until I heard his bedroom door close. As soon as I heard the click, I tried to get up. I couldn't open my eyes. They were too swollen. I went to move my arm and it wouldn't straighten. I think it's broken again. I held my arm and slowly got up. It took all my strength to get to the door.
I shut the door as quietly as I could and ran down the steps. Once I got to the street, I realized, that I didn't know where I was going. I guess I'll just walk until I find somewhere to sleep.
I step up on to the sidewalk and a blue van drives by. A kid sticks his head out the window. He yells to me and I feel something hit my chest. It falls to the ground and I bend over and pick it up. It's an empty beer can. It wasn't empty when it hit me. I try to throw it back at the van, but it's already gone. The can doesn't even make it to the middle of the road. I stare at the can until something inside me snaps and I begin to scream.

This is really, really good. I hope it is not a true story, well I hope any story like this is not true, but unfortunately, so many are. This is very interesting and caught my attention quicky, keeping me focused. I like the way that the character tries to blot out the fact it is happening. It must be very difficult, yet they are trying so hard. The grammar seems perfect to me, it all does. Well done, and good luck in my contest! Kais =)

i hope all this is just good writing and strong imagination with no actual experience with all this abuse. itz sad alne to know someone is going through this on a fictional scale, rather long in a real case scenario. i want to congratulate you on the gold as you told the story in a very believeable way, DARK.

    Very good

It is the type of theme that I am Looking for and you pulled it off. I am moving your story into the finals list [one of four at the moment] Your closing was also good in that it showed her attempts to fight back only further demonstrated her helplessness.
