The Death Letter Ch.7

Christmas1

How lovely Christmas is with snow falling outside and holiday cheer inside. Christmas Eve could not have been nicer.2

I woke up this morning to the phone ringing. I answered it.3

The voice ont he phone said, "Hello? Is Athena there?"4

"This is Athena," I said, "Who is this???"5

"This is Captain Rolf. Your husband is on a dangerous mission and is unable to attend any activities. He is not permitted to leave for the holidays, I'm sorry. But he has written a letter to you  which will be mailed on the next buisness day. Good Bye"6

"Good Bye," I said. I was overcoem with frustration and grief. I kept thinking how could he be sent on a mission? Don't they know it is Christmas? Have they no hearts?7

Oh well, I thought, I can make the best of it.8

I rolled out of bed as slowly as I could, just to savor my tiredness. 9

I went downstairs, still in my pjs, looking gross, to find every eye looking upon me. I was in shock, it was like where the hell did you all come from.10

Turns out, I had a party planned that I had totally forgotten about. Even though my morning sickness is begining to dwindle away, I tend to forget things.11

So anyway nothing really happened at the party. All I did was sit and stare. And then they all went home................finally. That was THE longest day of my life. 12

I woke up the next morning to find presents.13

I opened around 10 boxes and I got:14

1.A new cell phone from my mom because I had dropped mine so much it was deteriorating.15

2.The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Extended Edition from Sarah, my best friend.16

3.A bright pink thong from Jen, my sister, she thinks I should be more of a slut and that normal underwear is uncomfortable(yeah right thats going in my unwanted gift pile).17

4.A notebook for poetry and a notebook for a journal from my brother Jim because he knows how much I love to write.18

5.some CDs from my dad well actually they were: Green Day, Aerosmith, Sugarcult, Good Charlotte, Taking back sunday, AFI. Hey age doesn't matter when you have music.19

6.Chris' mom got me a new portable cd player.20

7.Chris' dad bought me a gift certificate for a massage.21

8.Chris' sister, Rene bought me three Stephen king books (woohoo reading!!)22

9.Chris' sister Aqua bought me a few scrapbooks23

10.Mark, my other best friend bought me a digital camera(finally)24

All the boxes dissappeard so quickly. As I was getting up to find a garbage bag, something caught my eye. There was a letter lying on the coffee table. I picked it up and opened it. Inside there was a peice of paper that read:25

go into your bed room and look on your dresser.26

I ran upstairs and found a second letter:27

go outside and look on your car.28

Bolting outside I found a third letter:29

go inside and look on the Christmas tree.30

Once again, i bustled inside the house.31

On the tree there was a red envelope, I don't know how I could have missed it. It read:32

Athena,33

Words can not express my undying love for you. My sincere apologies for not being able to attend Christmas. I fear the worst now. Do not worry yourself. I have a horrible feeling that I may not be able to speak with you anytime soon. Things are getting hectic around here. We may be getting closer to war. I love you dearly my love and I hope to be able to speak with you as soon  as possible.34

P.S. Look in your library38

I went to my library and stood in complete astonishment.39

A whole new bookcase had been added on and inside of it was every book every written in every form possible by J.R.R. Tolkien. There was also a smaller bookcase contain every book relating to J.R.R. Tolkien or his books.40

A small envelope hung off of one of the shelves. I opened it. Inside it said:41

I love you. Merry Christmas.42

I was overwhelmed with joy.44

I wondered what I should do now.45

There was a mysterious knock on the door.46

I opened it and there stood.................................47
