Rose Petals Ch, 7

A week later after Hiei had forgiven Kurama for her little stunt, the two were now walking down the street as they passed the clinic as a sudden thought struck the the new mother's mind, she hadn't yet asked Hiei to check up on their babies yet, so much had been going on as of late that she had never thought about it until now. Might as well ask Hiei to check on their babies once they got done with the shopping, Most of it was groceries some things they needed and others, well about two thirds was food suited to appease Kurama's sudden food cravings. Once the two had returned home and put the groceries away Hiei walked into the living room and sat on the couch having nothing else better to do at the moment. 1

"Bored?" Kurama asked smiling. 2

"Yes, there's nothing to do here." Hiei said and shrugged as Kurama sat down beside him and Hiei glanced over at her noticing how beautiful she had began to look. 3

"Hiei...can I ask a favor?" She said.4

"If it has anything to do with sex no." He said.5

Kurama blinked some and chuckled as she smiled and lay her head on his shoulder and pulled her legs up curling them under herself. She didn't want the sex, she just wanted to see how the babies were doing, problem was, how should she ask him without him having to say no or he doesn't want to. Well it was a favor and he never did say no to her, and always wound up giving her what she wanted.6

"can you....Check up on the babies? When we walked by the clinic today I realized you haven't looked at them since I found out I was pregnant." Kurama said gently. 7

"What for? I'm sure they're fine Kurama, stop worrying so much." He said stroking her hair some. 8

"Hiei the first the three months of any pregnancy is the most critical time for a mother and her growing child or children...and I..." She said frowning some suddenly going quiet as she looked away. 9

How could Hiei be like that? Did he not care for her and the babies growing inside her stomach like he said he did? She would have at least thought, knowing the life that Hiei had, had he'd want to give the kits a better one, but  obviously Kurama was wrong. She brought her hands around her stomach as if trying to protect the lives from an unseen danger, fine then, if Hiei didn't care she'd care for the babies on her own. 10

"Do you...not love us like you said you did? She asked crying a bit.11

Hiei frowned some seeing her upset as he looked at her. Poor girl looked so pitiful and lost right now, He had developed a soft spot for their children yes, but it was obvious Kurama being the one carrying them had an even more bigger soft spot, and also tended to worry more about them. He hated seeing her like that, letting out a deep sigh he placed a finger against her cheek and gently turned her head towards him so she was facing him as he placed a gentle kiss on her lips and brushed one of her hands away feeling Kurama's stomach. 12

"You know more than anyone how deep my feelings go for you and our children, I'll kill anyone that even dares to harm you or these four." He said looking at her. 13

"So you'll check up on them?" Kurama asked hopeful as her emerald green eyes shone with a bit of hope. 14

"Lay down and lift your shirt up for me." He said helping Kurama lie down. 15

Kurama smiled some as she lifted her shirt and Hiei untied the bandage from his head as the Jagan eye opened and he felt Kurama's stomach smiling some seeing four tiny images in his mind as he smiled some running his own tests on them making sure their vitals and energy signatures were alright as he leaned back up and placed four tiny kisses on Kurama's stomach hearing a small giggle from Kurama as he placed a second kiss on her lips.16

"They're fine, four healthy chibi Kitsunes." Hiei said.17

"How far along are they, I haven't been keeping track because I've been so busy as of late." She said sitting up and lowering her shirt. 18

"I'd say about 9 maybe 10 weeks." He said as Kurama smiled and hugged him. 19

"Thank you Hiei." Kurama said nuzzling him.20

Two weeks later Kurama had everyone over for a little get together as Kurama sat between Botan and Keiko and laughed a bit about the latest gossip between girls while the boys sat and watched. 21

"Ok your with your all the time, what the hell is Kurama talking about with them?" Yuuske asked looking at Hiei obviously confused. 22

"Hell if I know, I'm still trying to figure out how Kurama switches moods so damned fast." Hiei said. 23

"If your gonna curse boys go outside and do it, I don't want my children hearing such language." Kurama said. 24

"Can they even hear what we're talking about?" Keiko asked curious. 25

"From what I read yes." Kurama said rubbing her stomach.26

"Speaking of which how far in are ya now? And do ya even know what they are?" Kuwabara asked. 27

"Mmm...12 weeks now and no, at least not yet." Kurama said wincing a bit as she shifted some. 28

"You in pain?" Hiei asked concerned.29

"No...not at all, my back just hurts that's all, you guys want to see my belly?" She asked smiling seeing everyone gather around her as she chuckled and lifted her shirt some. 30

"Oh wow, you actually got a bit of a tummy now." Botan said smiling feeling Kurama's stomach. 31

"I'm not that big Botan." Kurama said having another sudden thought. 32

She hadn't even thought of names yet. What's a child without a name? And so many possibilities with four growing kits. She sighed some as she lay her head back and brought her hand to her head. 33

"My my so much to do." Kurama said. 34

"What's the matter?" Yukina asked. 35

"I haven't even began to think of names yet, its going to take forever to decide on just one name let alone four." Kurama said. 36

Hiei smiled a bit and went up behind her kissing her forehead. "Your gonna worry yourself sick, you still got six whole months to think of minor names Kurama."37

"Its not minor Hiei its a big decision that every parent has." Kurama said beginning to become angry.38

Hiei rolled his eyes and kissed Kurama as he patted her stomach. "There's other major things to worry about right now besides names, you need to eat to keep yourself healthy." He said as Kurama nodded some. 39

"I suppose your right." Kurama said calming as she got up and went to get something to eat.
