Christmas Miracle

Missing image
"Rudolph the red nose reindeer,
had a very shiny nose,
and if you ever saw it,
you would even say it glows. 1

All of the other reindeer,
used to laugh and call him names,
they never let poor rudolph,
join in any reindeer games. 2

Then one foggy christmas eve,
santa came to say,
rudolph with yer nose so bright,
wont you guide my sleigh tonight. 3

Then all the reindeer loved him,
and they shouted out with glee,
rudolph the red nosed reindeer,
you'll go down in history." 4

I sang loudly with my choir. I can't believe most of these people celebrate christmas like this. A miracle hasn't happened to me, and I need a miracle more than ever, I thought bitterly. Miraces are supposed to happen on christmas aren't they? I didn't understand that I just didn't see the miracle happening right before my eyes.5

I stepped down off the risers, and started to walk to the bathroom. Then I remembered I had a solo right now. My choir instructor forced me to take the part. I walked up to a microphone, and waited for the music to start. I sang silent night.6

After the concert, I began to walk home, even though I wanted to go anywhere but home. My parents were complete crack addicts. They completely ignored me, and most of the time, I had to find my own food. A lot of the times I was the one who went to the store and bought the food with my own money I'd earn by doing jobs for neighbors.7

When I got home, I ran up to my room, and grabbed my stuffed reindeer. He was Rudolph. Rudolph was my only friend, because everyone at school knows about my parents, and thinks I'm just like them. Some days I would just sit on my bed and talk to my reindeer, just so I could say my problems out loud, instead of bottling my feelings up inside of me.8

The next day, Linda(I won't call her my mom) took me to school. On the way, we saw a giant rudolph billboard. Under rudolph it said, SAY NO TO DRUGS. Linda stared at it for a long time. I thought I saw a tear go down her face. That confused me.9

It was the last day of school before winter break. I stayed quiet, and didn't raise my hand in class, as usual. I just stared down at my paper. I began to draw a happy scene of a family similar to mine. The family had smiles, and by what I meant to make it seem, were drug free. 10

I stared at my paper. The people looked real. I was a good artist. I started to cry. I didn't care that people around me were giving me dirty looks. After about a minute or so, my sadness was replaced by anger. I stopped crying. Why can't my mom and dad be like that? Are they complete idiots? I screamed in my head.11

When I got home I looked at Linda, and saw her smile. The first real smile from her I had ever seen. 12

"Steph. you might have a good christmas after all," she said. Then she walked into her bedroom. I wondered what she meant.13

The day before christmas, mom came up to me and asked14

"Remeber that rudolph sign we saw, and it said say no to drugs?"15

"Yeah mom," I said, "Why?"16

"Well it really made me think. I'm gonna clean up my act, and so is your father." That news hit me so hard, that I just stood there with my mouth wide open. 17

After about a minute or so, I went out of shock, and actually smiled. It had been at least two years since I had smiled. I knew christmas would be good. My miracle had happened, and I knew that nothing better could ever happen.18

Christamas day I woke up early. I didn't even know why I had left sleep. I couldn't get back to sleep, so I went downstairs. I gasped. There was at least seven presents under the tree. I had never gotten a present my entire life. Mom and dad came put from behind the tree, and both smiled at me. I got my Christmas miracle. In fact I got two miracles all because of a rudolph sign.

well this is absolutely a beautiful story. I always loved rudolph the red-nosed reindeer. You worked the song into a story itself and it turned out beautifully. Great work

This was a cute story. I really liked it. The sign that said "Say NO to crack" was pretty random. You'd think it would say "Say NO to drugs" They probably wouldn't call it "crack" either. It's a slang word. They're were like 3 mistakes in the last paragraph but in all this was a good story. My favorite part was when the end with the Christmas tree and the presents and the parents. Good job keep up the writing
