The Appariton Man- Part Twenty Seven #

Chapter Seven - part Twenty Seven #1

I stepped across the hot ground, towards the little shop under the units. The sun still feeling as if it could burn a hole through my t-shirt.2

It was near nightfall, I knew that there was still at least another Fifty more kilometers more to drive before we were cloase to the Mercy Clinic. Somehow I could see that there was the slight chance that we were not going to make it in time tonight, and as realization of this sank in, I began to ease my steps, getting all that more closer towards the shop, only not in such a rush.3

What was I feeling? These little butterflies of nerves and sexual tension every time I got remotely, body close to Taylor. I did not even know the guy, I had met him a few hours ago, planning on executing a hitch and run, and now inside my heart, I felt a little different, like I wasn't in such of a hurry to get there, because somehow I wanted to spend more time with him, to really get to know him. The yet again, I did not want to know him, I wasn't after all going to be his friend after this trip, so really what was the use of trying to get to know someone like him at all, with every intentions of leaving him high and dry, and how could the thought , these lustful feeling even enter my mind. I was fifteen for one, and he was old enough to be my brother, and another reason was the reason I was here in the first place, to go home to Kerry, my loving Kerry. How could I ever betray Kerry's love like that, it just was not right. I could not become attached to a man I was destined to forget, a man that I could never share any love with, something that could never be.4

Nearing the entrance, I took a seep breath in, trying to expel whatever it was that was causing me to feel this way towards Taylor. I needed to keep strong, be strong, be the girl that had made Kerry proud, the insane one.5

Once at the glass doors, I reached out my hand for the handle, noticing the tinted, black shop windows, shining in the sunlight, but not giving my eyes and access inside the shop at all, for the windows were a dark black, most probably for safety purposes. I tried to open the door, pulling on the handle, almost to hard that I wrenched my wrist.6

"Relax Reidy, take it easy, don't panic you must be opening it the wrong way," I whispered to myself, letting go of the door, I rubbed my wrist, releasing the pain that had sparked through my veins and attempted to push open the door instead, but my efforts were wasted, as the door would not open. It was most certainly locked, just my freaking luck. 7

"Okay don't panic, don't stress, it must be Jarred of maybe someone is out on there afternoon lunch break, yeah that's it, just relax Reidy, relax, "I said, pumping myself up with esteem, I knew that within myself I was near to the edge, the heat was depressing enough, without the worry that I would never be able to change out of these clothes.8

I tried again, this time pushing my body angrily into the glass door, giving it a fair full body impact, and yet It was still locked, I knew for sure know that it was not jarred. I desperately hoped it would be, but like always in my life, nothing turned out the way I had set it out to be. They were obviously closed.9

Feeling a trickle of sweat fall across my lips, I wiped it of, starting to feel much more than annoyance at my luck. If I had a metal pole I knew perfectly well what I would do with it and were they could shove it if they came back all happy, and joyful, filling there face with the food, I so needed to fill my hungry stomach with.10

Trying to stay calm and relaxed, I tried to get a look inside the glass doors, seeing just a brief shadow of a desk I smiled, maybe they were out the back.11

"Hello, is there anybody there, I really need you to open your shop," I yelled, thinking that maybe if I yelled loud enough, someone might here me and let me in, even if it was for five minutes, that would be all I needed, but it was no hope, there was no reply and I could not here any footsteps.12

"Shit, that's just freaking great Reidy, freaking great, ass holes," I screamed, throwing my hands bitterly by my sides, getting a full blows of the sweat that was dripping down my arms. Disgusted I wiped it of, feeling my stomach about to hurl with the feeling of dirtiness it left me with.13

A gush of hot wind blew my way, covering my face with sand, luckily not getting in my eye, it blew my hair up over my face, making it stick to my flushed skin, as some hair traveled across my nose tickling it senseless. swishing it away, close to tears, my blood started to boil inside my veins, with an anger that I would soon find hard to control, Where was that metal pole when I needed to release my ager and frustration out on there stupid non-see through glass windows.14

I needed some clean clothes, like nothing I have ever needed before, I really could not take it in these kinds of whether conditions, these outback, painfully depressing days, where I wished the sun would just disappear and it would just rain all over me. I would much rather be cold, and wet than sticky and hot. I felt like I had been rolled into a massive pit of hot sand and mud, and made to stay covered in it for some kind of sick pleasure, was this Gods way of repaying me for lashing out on my Mother, cause if so I clearly knew why I was not a Christian in the first place, bloody ass hole he was. It was grating on my nerves in the worst possible fashion.15

I had just come to feel slightly happy about the fact that I would be enjoying the cold sensation of water all over my body, and when I got out there would be a set of nice clean fresh clothes to change into , a pair of clean clothes so I could get out of these ones that were starting to suffocate me, now my dream was becoming a mere fantasy, I was sure God was mocking me.16

"Is anyone fucking there, open the door please, " I screamed at no one at particular, and mainly the door, feeling as though I could just about bash my fist through the glass to unlock it myself, but I wasn't that stupid, just furious to the point I could really stab anyone who looked at me sideways.17

I looked around me, hoping that someone, somewhere would see me, see my cry for help and come a rescue me, or to just come and open the fucking God damn doors.18

I twirled around, kicking the dirt beneath my feet, a few tears of annoyance escaping my eyes, the stinging sensation causing my eyes to water up, I tasted the salt as they trickled down my cheeks and traced my lips, seeping onto my dry tongue.19

"Fuck," I cried, wiping my eyes, the stinging sensation still causing my eyes to blur, my nose felt like burning as I wiped it to, my hands on my hips.20

"Are you okay down there?," a voice asked, I swung my body around, looking up to see a girl about my age or a little older, looking down at me in a state on immense confusion.21

I wiped my nose again, and my eyes, my vision becoming clearer. I hoped that I didn't look to bad, like some country bogon who was screaming there filthy mouth of. I shook my head.22

"No, God damn freaking store is closed, and I need some new, fresh clothes real bad right about now."23

The girl nodded, hopefully in understatement, she walked closer to the balcony, swinging her hands over the railing.24

" I see, and why do you need new clothes so desperately, haven't you got any of your own?"25

Was this girl thick or just plain stupid, if I had my own clothes wouldn't you think that I would be wearing them, instead of thinking about committing a felony just to get a new pair, she stooped a new low for being a retard, could she really not see the beads of sweat that were dripping form my ever pore, my every inch of skin, could she not see the massive wet patch of sweat, just above my bra-line, that was so easily visible it could cause an accident to look at, or was she just mentally blind, I was dying to know what her excuse was for this.26

"What does it look like to you, I am fucking suffocating to death in these clothes, if I had my own I wouldn't even be bothered talking to you know would I?"27

The girl scanned my body, raising both eyebrows in content, she lifted her hand, bringing it to her own brow and wiped it clean of her sweat.28

"All right, there is no need to get nasty, I was just asking, never know with people form these other towns, last month some guy broke into the store just to get a beanie, found out he was using it as a balaclava to rob the bank in the next town, it's why they got bullet proof tinted glass, so no one can try to break in."29

Bewildered by her comment and just about ready to snap in half and have a nervous breakdown, I let a few more tears fall from my eyes, in attempt not to hold the anger in.30

"Look, girl, whatever your name is, I don't think I really wanted to know your life story okay, or what the hell is going through that brain of your's right now, all I want to know is if there is anyway at all that I could get someone to take me into the shop so that I can buy myself some clean clothes before I die of unsanitary issues, I am pretty desperate and would take just about anything, male or female as long as it was in my size?"31

The girl frowned, "Afraid not, sorry, it is the owners spring stock-take sale, I heard it wasn't opening up till after spring itself, and I take it your not a country girl then?".32

I shook my head, "Wow how did you guess that?," I asked, sarcastically, feeling my stomach now twisting with knots of fear, fear that I would be stuck in these clothes for another fitly fucking kilometers in the scorching dead sun.33

She lifter her arms, placing her hands behind her head.34

"Wow you really are desperate aren't you, It is kinda sad in a way, how much money have you got on you?," she asked, turing her head slightly to look back inside, as if she could make an investment out of my suffering. So maybe she wasn't as dumb as I made her out to be, maybe she did deserve the credit of a smart teenage business woman, it almost made me laugh out loud, and I probably would of, had I not been so mentally down. Suicide had never looked so sweet in a time of depression.35

I pulled the fifty dollar note out of my back pocket and held it up in the light for her to see, holding it tightly encase God decided to play make Reidy chase stupidly after a fifty dollar note, in an attempt to save her hygiene and sanity.36

"This is all I have got, it is about all I can afford, I don't have anymore cash one me, In fact it's not really even mine to start with.37

The girl nodded, "I see that, is that your boyfriend over there?," she asked, pointing towards the reception room.38

I turned around, blocking the sunlight with my hand, and looked over to the reception room where Taylor stood, back against the wall, his t-shirt hanging from his jeans, and a blue plastic bag was hanging from his muscled arm. My insides caved in, a the desire sank into my skin, causing parts of my body to tingle where they normally would not have, unless I was kissing Kerry. I guessed that he was holding our food in the plastic bag, but I knew it wasn't the plastic bag that both of us girls were focusing on.39

I turned back towards the girl, part of my body underneath my shirt, suddenly becoming stiff at the thought of being close to his body, I crossed my arms over my chest, trying to hide, what wanted so badly to be pressed back into place my his fingertips.40

"No..No freaking way he he my boyfriend, " I said, slightly sounding defensive, or repulsed at the though that she could even think that, "No I am just hitching hiking a ride to Mercy, to visit my sick psycho brother for his birthday because my psychopathic, drugged up mother is to high to even bother trying to make a visit to cheer the poor kid up," I lied. I was loving this, not that lying was in my nature but it amazed me at how truly gullible some people really were. In away it was kind of fun, making up a different heart reaching story whenever I met someone knew.41

The girl frowned, sympathetically, "Wow, what a blow out, he's a so hot, anyway if you could hold on for just one moment, I will be right back, will you wait here for just a few minutes, what did you say your name was?"42

I looked over at Taylor who seemed quiet content, leaning against the wall, looking all hot for me while I was talking to this stranger, one who seemed to be having the same affect as I was having, after seeing a sexy sweaty man with out his shirt of. I was beginning the drool, God he looked so good, his skin, his whole body was just so darn edible.43

"I didn't, and we.. I mean I am actually on a pretty tight schedule, I am hoping to make it there before nightfall, so I might not have a lot of time to just stand around, you know what I mean?"44

She smiled, 'Good luck with that, and yes I know what you mean, so if you could just please wait for a few minutes while I run inside, I am sure I have something that could solve your problem."45

I raised my eyebrow with interest, while the last wire of tension hung by a mere thread. the wind blowing in my hear was enough to make me explode.46

I nodded, in agreement, hoping to god that this was worth my time.47

"Whatever it is make it quick, time is slipping away."48

She nodded, "Great, just wait here then."49

I turned to face Taylor, who was waving, I waved back pointing to the balcony. He nodded, as if understanding and I returned my gaze to the balcony, impatiently waiting.50

    Bad news...

Smells like a little girl dragged into American slimebag culture (either the author or the character). Then, I suppose this is an American run site. I'm out of here pretty soon. I hate slimebag yanks. They're just boring and they think everyone has to be like them. Sorry, but I left Lost Highway and U.S.A. far behind, (whoevers reading this).

Taylor is a real gentleman in this story and I love the way you've described Reidy's lust for him. This makes her seem so much more human (Although I still don't like her)

The perfect man, lol. Anyway...this new character is also gotten my attention. She seems alright. I, as always, love the description. You keep writing!!!! And the length was just right, kept you on your toes.

I don't think this part was too long at all. I love getting into Reidy's head and trying to undrstand her. She feels things so intensely and to such a higher degree then most people.

I have to say though, I am getting worried about what Reidy's going to do with the is Taylor guy. It worries me the way she's starting to have feelings of attraction toward him. I don't think he'd she'd be able the guilt she'd feel if she went all the way with him. I think she'd completely fall apart and feel like she'd betrayed Kerry.

It's interesting that Reidy's only fifteen. I've bee wondering how old she and Chris wre for awhile.

    oh, the anticipation...

While this part was interesting... seemed to take away from the main storyline.. but every story has its quirks and maybe we havne't seen where this storyline will take us... good job!
