I'm always here for you pt 7

"Kyle actually asked you to the Winter Formal?" Lauren said to me in shock.1

"No Lauren," Shellie said in a sarcastic voice. "She's smiling ear to ear because he asked me."2

I lauged a little bit and smiled. "You guys it's really not a huge deal. It's just a dance."3

"Autumn," Lauren said, "It's not 'just' a dance, it's a dance where a lot of firsts may happen."4

"No," I said back. "I don't think Kyle will be giving me my first kiss. We barely know each other anyway."5

"True," Joanna said. "But, I'm pretty sure that he'll do his best to get to know you in the two weeks leading up to it."6

"It's only two weeks away!" I gasped. 7

"Uhh... yeah." Shellie said to me. 8

"It is and WE," Lauren pointed to herself, Shellie, and Joanna, "don't have dates."9

"Who said that was a problem?" Joanna asked.10

"Maybe not for you, but it is for me." Lauren snapped.11

I rolled my eyes and turned to Shellie. "You think Robby will ask you?" 12

Shellie gave me this crazy evil look. "No. I know he wont."13

I sank into my chair. "Ok, sorry, just thought I'd ask."14

The last bell of the day rang and the four of us grabbed our stuff and headed out. I walked out outside to the picnic table and threw my backpack and binder on the ground and sat down.15

“Hey,” Kyle said sitting next to me.16

“Hi,” I smiled back. Butterflies immediately erupted inside of me and I did my best to keep them calm.17

“Are you doing anything this weekend?” He asked me moving closer.18

I stopped to ‘think’ for a moment. In reality there was nothing I could think of at all, but, I do like the add anticipation. After a few seconds I shook my head. “No, I don’t think so. Why?”19

“Well uh,” He looked down at his feet and then back at me. “I was wondering if you wanted to go see a movie with me or something.”20

“Or something? What’s the something?” I said with a smile at the corners of my mouth.21

Kyle blushed and gave a small shrug. “Whatever you want it to be.” 22

I raised my eyebrows and nibbled on my lip a bit. “A movie would be nice.”23

“Great, do you want me to pick you up at your house or do you want to meet at the theater?”24

“Umm… whatever I don’t care.”25

“Alright, then I’ll pick you up at your house.” 26

“Ok,” I said nodding. I was afraid if I said anything more I was going to scream with enjoyment. My mom soon pulled up and I rushed into the car telling her everything that happened.27

“I don’t know this ‘Kyle’.” She said to me pulling onto the road.28

“Mom!” I gasped. “Yeah you do! I’ve been talking about him nonstop for the longest time. Remember, awesomely beautiful brown eyes and hair, the prettiest smile I’ve ever seen in my life. THAT Kyle.”29

“Oh, him.” My mom said with one of those mom smiles. “Yes, you have had a crush on him for quit a while.”30

“And now he’s finally asked me out to the movies with him, and he’s taking me to the Winter Formal!” I squealed with so much delighted. “There is a God, and he’s on MY side.” 31
