Super Girl

In the year 2007…2

There was a girl called Katie Ballimore! She was 14 years old and was discovering more things about her as time went on. She had super powers she never knew about until November 7th she discovered she was Super Girl… 3

She woke up one morning to get out of bed and noticed she wasn’t on the ground she was in the air. And she suddenly screamed! “Mum, what’s going on?” Her mum suddenly realised there was nothing wrong and said “It’s alright, it was just a dream.” But Katie replied “NO MUM ITWASN’T A DREAM!! IT WAS REAL…I WAS FLYING!” “Yes you were honey, in your dreams” and then her mum walked off. How could it be fake? She thought to herself. It was real, not fake, well then this is one thing I’m going to have to keep to myself. She walked downstairs and smelled a cake burning and she suddenly came to rescue the cake. She ran downstairs and tried to find the ovenmits but couldn’t find them and without thinking grabbed the burning cake with her bare hands. Nobody saw her do it, thankfully, but she had 2nd degree burns and didn’t know what to do. She was about to tell her mum but then when she looked again the burns were gone. She was amazed and didn’t know how that could happen and then suddenly her mum walked in and thanked her for saving the cake. But then her mum realised that the ovenmits were nowhere to be seen and quickly asked her to if she could see Katie’s hands. Katie’s hands were not burnt and her mum automatically asked how she had got the cake out without using ovenmits. Katie said she had packed them away. And her mum believed her and walked off. Katie had to get ready fast as she was running late for school. She quickly got ready and caught the bus. Only she and five other people catch her bus. When she got onto the bus she decided to sit at the back of the bus today where nobody could see her so she could have “me” time. On the way to school the bus stopped at a screech and somebody had taken her bus hostage. He had a gun and threatened to kill anyone who tried to escape or get help. Katie at this point wishes she could turn invisible. She did turn invisible and the gunman couldn’t see her so she took a chance and knocked out the gunman and quickly the bus driver took the wheel in shock. Nobody on the bus knows she did it or turned invisible. Then later on the news came up to the school to find out what had happened. When they asked Katie what had happened all she said was “It was all a bur.” But she knows what happened, because she saved the day. She now knew herself as Super Girl. Later on she decided to try out for cheerleading. She made the team! So the next day she practiced what she was taught and she had done a front flip and dislocated her knee. She went to call for help but she decided to relocate her knee herself and as she did it healed up the rest of the way. By that time one of her friends had walked in and noticed she was on the ground. They asked her if she was alright and she replied “I’m fine, just a little tired and hungry.” So one of her friends helped her up and they went and had lunch together. In cooking they were learning how to cut in different ways. Like slicing, dicing and all the different ways and as Katie was cutting the potato she accidentally cut the top of her finger off! She quickly hid her finger and a new one had grown back. She was so freaked out she screamed and ran out of the classroom. When she was walking home a person had come up to her and said hello. Katie had never met this person before but said hello back. The person said her name was Renee Kalgan and said she was killed by a man yesterday. Katie replied “Well I’m glad your alive.” And Renee said to Katie “I’m not alive, I’m dead. You’re a ghost whisperer as well as a super hero. You must call up the police and tell them you found a dead body at fifty-eight Chubb Street, Ipswich.” Katie was so shocked she ran home. The ghost Renee yelled out “PLEASE HELP!!” Once Katie was at home she called the police straight away and reported it. Renee had come into Katie’s room and said “thank – you, I can now see the light. I have to go now. Good bye.” Katie was glad she could help another soul and was happy with what she was becoming and immediately started designing a Super Girl outfit. 4

The next morning she woke up and went out to get some fabric but then realised that it was Thursday. But that didn’t stop her. She told her mum she was going to walk to school. But instead she went to the fabric shop and bought some materials to make her Super Girl outfit. And then her mum said she had to go to work in a minute and work until six o’clock at night. So Katie had the day to herself she thought. She could wag school even though it wasn’t a good thing to do. Anyway she went out and bought all the materials she needed. And then went home and sewed her outfit. It took her from nine o’clock in the morning till four o’clock in the afternoon. Her mum arrived home and asked her how her day had gone. She said it was fine and said “Mum let’s play a game.” Her mum decided to go along with it. Katie said “Can I be the student and you are the teacher. So you say “where’s your note” and I say “My mum wrote me a note saying I was away”, right. So for this play can you write me a note saying I was sick and sign it and yeah.” “Ok then Katie. Here’s your note.” her mum said. “Hmm…you can forget it I don’t think that’d be a good play for at school anyway. Oh well thanks anyway!” Katie said. Success, Katie thought. Now all I have to do is hand it in and nobody would know I ever wagged. 5

The next day at school Katie had thought I really am a superhero; I can save the world with my powers. Suddenly she fell to sleep and had a dream about an intruder in the school. She woke up in a classroom and noticed they were in a lockdown. She looked out the door and saw a person and asked her friend if she could see the person. Her friend couldn’t see the person. Katie then noticed she could see through walls, x-ray vision. She then closed her eyes for a strange reason and noticed everyone was frozen. She quickly grabbed the intruder and carried him outside and one kilometre away from the school. By the time she had come back to her classroom at the school she was exhausted. She put back time to normal and she had definitely saved the day. In the news headlines the next day the front title was is there a superhero in Ipswich? She thought yes me!6

It was finally Saturday and she was already having a rough day as her mum wouldn’t let her hang out with her friends.7
