The Knight of Spring, By Chaz D. Wolf1
Where O winter hath, thou gone? 2
Thy fleeting steps are like whispers anon, 3
Fading like twilight, nay the dawn. 4
Where O winter hast thou gone? 5
Spring breaks forth O glorious morn.6
Sound the trumpet and the horn. 7
Mount the rider; spur the horse, 8
Like the blossoms, they burst forth.9
Soldiers stand in files and ranks, 10
Their shields are roses, their spears mandrakes. 11
Waiting for their champion true, 12
Which shall come and fight vigorously anew. 13
He shall win the rumored princess’ hand, 14
By defeating winter-dragon, removing it from the land.15
And oft’ in tower grandly gleaming sits Princess Iris always dreaming.16
Waiting for her one lone knight.17
The one to come and win the dragon’s fight.18
To free her from her perilous edifice,19
O such a melancholy sight.20

Good job, I love it. I could be better if you'd capitilize the O's though and some other words. thanx for entering.

This is really good, but then I'm a sucker for archaic language

My one beef is with the random off-rhymes and almost-rhymes. I don't know, it just seems like it would flow so much better if more of the couplets actually rhymed, instead of just sort-of rhyming.
Really, it's good though. Nice work, and thank you!
