Find Me Somewhere... Chapter 2

Everything started six months ago when Akira was having her 18th birthday party. It was everything Akira every wanted. All of her friends and family, and the people she loved the most all under the same roof. She felt like she was in heaven. 1

Akira spotted her best friend, Ricky, and waved to him. He waved back and came over to talk to her.2

"Happy Birthday Akira! This is an awesome party!" he said, excited.3

"Thanks. Yeah I know isn't it great? Everyone I know and love is her!" 4

"You're gonna love your gift, it took me forever to get the money for."5

"Aw, thank you Ricky! I'll open it when everyone is watching." Akira kissed him on the cheek and walked off. As she walked to put the gift on the table, she heard a familiar voice yell, "AKIRA!!" She stopped turned around and saw her cousin, Stacey, in front of her dragging a tall boy behind her. 6

"Hey! Happy 18th!" Stacey yelled happily.7

"Thanks. Umm, who is this you're torturing?" Akira said jokingly.8

"This is Tom. He's this guy that goes to my school and I invited him to come to your party. I hope you don't mind."9

"No I..." Akira was rudely interrupted.10

"Well that's just great! He's just my friend. Oh my gosh! Is that Carlee? IT IS! I'll talk to you later cuz, I gotta go to talk to Carlee." Stacey ran off, excited, and left Tom and Akira alone together.11

"Umm, hi, I'm Akira." She said, shyly.12

"I'm Tom but I think you already knew that." Tom hinted. Tom was an attractive boy. He had brown hair and hazel eyes. He had a nice smile and very muscular. 13

Tom and Akira talked for a long time. Long enough where it got to the point to blow out the candles. 14

The cake was beautiful. It had pink and red roses all over it with yellow butterflies. There were 17 candles and one candle that sang the birthday tune. Everyone was singing, even her mother who is tone deaf. At the end of the song Akira's father said, "C'mon sweetie, make a wish and blow out the candles." Akira had to think for a moment. She knew what she wanted and blew out the candles. 15

It was time open gifts. The first gift she opened was a pink sweat shirt that said "legal" on it. Everyone laughed. That gift was from Meghan, Akira's closest girlfriend. They've known eachother since junior high.16

It was time to open Ricky's gift. Akira was really excited. She undid the bowtie, and ripped the wrapping paper open. There was something inside a box with holes. It was barking. She opened up the gift and saw the cutest puppy she had ever seen. Akira started crying, ran over to Ricky and gave him the biggest hug ever. 17

After eating cake, opening gifts, and talking to people, the party was over. It was the best day of Akira's life, and it was about to get better. As she was saying good-bye to everyone, Tom came over and wanted to talk to her.18

"Hey. Great party. Sorry I didn't get you a gift." he said.19

"It's alright," she replied, "It was fun just having you here." 20

"I want to make up to you by taking you out to dinner this Saturday, if that's alright." Akira was speechless and she started to laugh.21

"What's wrong?" Tom said, quite confused.22

"My wish to blow out the candles came true, I really wanted to go out with you Tom. That was my wish and you made come true!" Akira gave him a kiss and her number.23
