What I am ThankFul For1

As I walk home from school on Thanksgiving I am excited.Today I get to see my family.It was that time again,to recall all the great times I had with them.As I walk home I gaze upon the gorgeous scenery.The trees that had changed color,flowers and acorns everywhere.As I approach my house I am struck with awe.I see all these cars parked on the sidewalk,our driveway.Imediately I reconize the cars.I visualize all my relatives suddenly.2

It was too much.I could not hold the excitement.I zoomed to the door as fast as a bullet.Lightning speed I burst through the front door.I suddenly smell heavenly aromas everywhere."Home from school,"my mom said."yeah.Where is everyone?,"I ask cluelessly."in the living room,"she replied.I rushed into the living room taking off my shoes along the way and throwing them.That is when I saw my whole family talking to each other and recalling the good times.Suddenly they stopped when they saw me.they all greeted me.3

I was overcomed with joy.I held in my tears.i sat down and we all started talking until dinner was ready.Finally when dinner was ready we all sat at the dinning table.Little by little all the food was layed out on the table.All the food looked scrumptious.Mac and cheese,Turkey,cornbread,ziti,stuffing,mashed potatoes,and lots more.It was time to eat.All of us prayed for the wonderful feast and we all chowed down like pigs.After dinner we had dessert.Sweet potatoe pie,apple pie,chocolate cake and cookies.I think I was drooling but I didn't care.After dessert we all sat in the living room and asked what was going on now and stuff,personal questions.At 10:00 pm everybody left.It was that faithful moment.As they left I thought about all I was thankful for.I was thankful for my parents,a bed to sleep in,my family,a roof over my head,clothes on my back,my own room,my possessions,my friends.I could have gone on forever.I am thankful.I can't wait until the next gathering.

Author notes

I think this should be added to the finalist list because the story has great detail.You could know how I felt on that day because of the descriptive words.I think it is a great story.

    I do agree that it is a pretty good story, with a nice message, but you should try joining the sentences, it disrupts the flow.

    I agree that it is a good story

    As you said, one can feel the excitement of the annual gathering and the love that flows. However the contest theme is how one suffers at the hands of others. through no fault of their own, they are viewed as different and rejected. Your is of love and acceptance.

    thnx for entering the contest. this is deff. a story that deserves more comments than it has. its a wonderful story. especially the subject you wrote about. its a very descriptive story. the discription in this story was amazing.
    now in order for you to qualify as a finnalist you need to write why you think this is one of your best peices in the author notes. you have until the end of the contest to fix this. if you dont you wont be given the chance to win.
