My Future (Ch. 5)

My Future1

The date is October 13, 2019.  Lezli Weis, who is 31 years old, has lived a very full and exciting life, and she is continuing to do so today.  She has a well-rounded life which includes her family, her job, and of course recreation.  2

Before finally settling down in Grygla, Minnesota, Lezli traveled around the world.  During college at the University of North Dakota, she studied abroad all around the world with a double major in acting and communication.  She visited many countries with her favorites being Greece, Italy, France, India, and Australia.  She lives in a large, yet comfortable, house in Grygla.  She lives with her husband named Jake, a son named Christian who is four years old, and twin daughters named Sophie and Halle who are six years old.  By this time, most people will have heard of Lezli because she is a famous actress.  Lezli has been in multiple movies and made guest appearances on numerous television shows.  She also has houses in Los Angeles, California, New York City, New York, Athens, Greece, and Paris, France.  Her big break came when she gained the lead role on the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie.  Following her breakout role, she starred in a few comedy, horror, and romance films.  When she was just 25, the year after her first movie appearance, she had already earned enough money to retire.  However, she loves her job too much to quit.  Lezli is taking a few years off to spend more time with her children.  Jake owns a large radio station where Lezli has a morning show which she broadcasts from her house.  Her two daughters both take ballet classes at a local dance studio, and her son spends his time just being a little boy with all his friends.  There are only about 20 students in each grade at their school, so that allows them to be very close with a wide range of younger and older kids.  Her family is very important to her, and she misses them greatly when she has to work which is a big reason that she is taking some time off.3

Four o’clock a.m. the alarm buzzes.  Lezli roles over in bed, shuts it off, and gives Jake a kiss on the cheek.  She then climbs out of bed, slips on her slippers, and prepares her morning glass of hot chocolate.  She sits in her breakfast nook and watches the latest music videos on CMT while enjoying her hot chocolate.  Lezli then simply combs her hair, brushes her teeth and she’s ready for work.  Most days she stays in her pajamas for her radio show in the morning.  She starts working at 4:30 to get all of the preparations done and reviews what she is going to talk about this morning.  Five o’clock roles around, and she starts out her show playing the latest popular country songs.  The next two hours seem to fly by because she is doing what she loves.  Around 6:30 she calls up to her husband to make sure he’s awake and remind him to wake the children up.  She finishes up her show at 7:00 and proceeds on with her day.  She walks out of the studio as her children are coming down the hallway.  She gives them all good morning hugs and kisses, and then she is off to get dressed and cook breakfast.  Today is Monday which means the children will want “Monday Muffins”.  She is just finishing setting the table as her husband followed by Christian, Sophie, and Halle enter the room.  They all sit down at the table and have breakfast together.  Jake then leaves for work about 7:45, and Lezli helps the children finish getting ready for school.  The four of them hop into their Jeep Grand Cherokee and are off.  She drops them off at school where Christian attends morning Pre-School and Sophie and Halle are in the first grade.  Lezli returns home where she will read a movie script in which she is considering acting in a few years.   The morning quickly passes as she cleans up the house, comes up with a script for tomorrows morning radio show, and then she gets ready for a dinner with her husband and his business associates.  At 11:30 she leaves to drive to Thief River Falls where she meets Jake.  They have a nice pleasant dinner, and then she drives back home to Grygla and picks up Christian at 2:00 from playing baseball with his friends.  As the two of them head for home, Christian explains how he was so close to hitting a home run, and how his team had won by a “jillion” points.  Lezli chuckles at his innocence as they pull into their three-car garage.  They decide to watch a movie this afternoon, and Christian chooses Aladdin, his newfound favorite movie.  She pops a batch of popcorn, and they cuddle up on the couch to enjoy the show.  At 3:30 in the afternoon, Sophie and Halle climb off the bus from school and watch the end of Aladdin while snacking on some popcorn.  At approximately 4:15, Jake returns home from work, and he starts helping Christian set up his toy train tracks while Lezli runs Sophie and Halle to their 4:30 ballet class.  While the girls are at dance, Lezli picks up a few groceries that she will need to prepare supper tonight.  She runs into her good friends Daniel and Abbie, and she invites them and their two children, Ella and Michael, over for supper.  They accept, and at 5:00 Lezli picks up Sophie and Halle from dance class and heads home.  She tells Jake that Daniel and Abbie are coming over and they are bringing Ella and Michael along.  The Christian, Sophie and Halle are all excited because they are good friends with Ella, who is seven, and Michael, who is four.  Lezli then prepares a large spaghetti supper, and the guests arrive at 6:30.  They have a wonderful night eating, talking, and catching up with each other.  The girls spend their night playing with Barbie’s, while the boys play with their John Deere Tractors.  Soon enough 8:30 roles around, the children are starting to get tired, and their company leaves.  Lezli and Jake clean up the kitchen while Christian, Sophie, and Halle are getting ready for bed.  Jake then goes to Christian’s room to tuck him in, and Lezli goes to Sophie and Halle’s room.  After a few minutes they switch rooms, and then Jake and Lezli go back to the living room and watch the evening news while they chat about their day.  Around 10:00 they retreat to bed because they have another full, lively, and busy day ahead of them.  4

Grygla, Minnesota is way up in northern Minnesota.  Everyone up there rides on his or her snowmobiles as soon as there is enough snow on the ground.  Like everyone else in Grygla, Lezli and Jake each own their own snowmobiles.  In fact, they own four total.  As soon as winter comes, they take their children on the snowmobiles around the woods.  Another “toy” that the family owns is a houseboat.  Two different times in the summer the family will take weeklong trips to the lake and just relax for a while.  Along with all of that, Lezli is very active with her church.  She sings in the choir, directs the hand bells, and acts in the occasional skits that the church presents.  On Friday nights the local restaurant has karaoke, and Lezli loves to perform.  With the help of her studio in her house, she has recorded a few songs and even played them on the radio.  Her family and other friends come to watch her perform.  One goal of hers is to release an album and get her name out their in the music industry.  Saturday nights are almost always a family night.  The entire family will either go to a movie, out to eat, or even just stay home and play board games, as long as they are all together.  As said before, Lezli’s family is extremely important to her.  She grew up with a strong sense of family, and she wants it to be that way for her children as well.  Sunday mornings the family goes to church, and the kids have Sunday school.  From day to day she lives a very pleasing life which she enjoys to her fullest.     5

Although Lezli is only 31 years old, she has already lived an amazing life and is continuing to do so.  Each day brings one more challenge and opportunity that she gladly welcomes.  Life for her just seems to get better as time passes.  She loves her family, her job, and her overall life.  Lezli just continues to approach every new thing with a smile and an open mind.  She will continue to do so until her final day.  6
