Why do we do things? On one level, there is a deep human need for his actions to be his own choice, and this is only exponentially intensified by modern sentiment of sovereignty on the national and personal level. And yet on the other hand you have people who are homeless, who will never be able to function in society, who, in some of the most truest sense of the word, do not have control, are insane. Its quite possible we don't have the control we would like. Time will tell. I must ask myself..."am I deluding myself with the idea of control, or must I suck it up and take responsibilities for my thoughts and actions?"

Quite an existentialist piece. It really questions the whole Sartrian idea of freedom and brings to mind the famous phrase by Neitzsche - "God is dead." Do we have control over what we can and cannot do or is there some devine power that is just playing with our lives as if we were the metaphorical pawns on the chessboard of life?
Well written, thought inspiring piece.

Wow. Anything I could have said was already stated by Taylor. Well done. *hugs* Good luck.
Perhaps.. Control is just an illusion one believes he has gained.

Wow.
I have to say, that was my first thought
This is definitely thought out, and no doubt a wonderful pondering. I love it. Such a great question; do we have control?
