Lucifer's Child (Chapter II)

Gabriel sank back contentedly into his chair, ready to take a short nap before he was called to duty again. Just as he closed his eyes, Michael strode in. “I have some news you may be pleased to hear,” he said. Gabriel sat up and raised an eyebrow, inviting his friend to continue. “Not five hours ago, I witnessed a gathering of werewolves in La Hondonada de las Sombras,” he reported. Gabriel waved his hand and replied, “This is normal. They commune every five years.” “I am not finished,” Michael said firmly. “There was a human there, a girl, by the name of Kali.” Michael crossed his arms and watched the expression on Gabriel’s face. “Kali. She is moving again?” Gabriel asked. “Yes,” Michael answered, clearly unnerved by the situation. Gabriel sighed. “Did you send someone after the girl?” “Yes, of course. Raphael should have found her by now,” Michael answered promptly. “Fine,” Gabriel said shortly. Then, he smirked and looked Michael dead in the eye. “I suppose I should look into her? She is no threat.” “Never underestimate your enemy, Gabriel. You made the same mistake last time,” Michael said softly. “I know,” Gabriel murmured, “I know.” 1
