Did i tell u about when i saved the life of a little girl in an SUV back when I worked at Wal-Mart?
No, well there's good news then I'm gonna tell you how it happened. 1
I was a cart pusher at Wal~mart, and one day I was training a cartpusher to help me during the Winter. It was a hard day, no real problems just difficult currecting small mistakes. It was about 7:30pm and Anderson was exhausted, so I said "lets go take a break, you've earned it" and i realized shortly that something didn't feel right, i told him "Anderson, i know u're tired, but someting doesn't feel right, come with me, we're going back outside". I said that while I handed him a pen and made sure he had a cellphone. He was real upset but he listened, when we got outside. There were 2 car crashes, i told him, u make sure things stay peaceful for the left one, i'll take the right one. 2
I chose the wrong one. I was still far away and I saw this drunk guy came out of the car, which was bleeding gasoline. And this Indian couple got out of a wreaked SUV, and the mom was trying to open the window. She was screaming "my baby!, she can't get out". I ran over there right away after I heard the screaming, and I slipped and fell on gasoline. I realized what was going on and immediately i asked, do i have permission to break the window to get her out, and pointed to the gas leaking closer. The mom said "yes" in a tone that was an admittance of defeat.3
I took off my coat and went to the back of the SUV which wasn't too destroyed, and I wrapped my coat around my fist. The dad was confused on why I took off my coat, he asked me "aren't you cold" I told him, "look the other way!" It took me 3 hits to bust it open and i busted the window off by hitting 3 large holes in it, one in the left, middle and right sides. And with the help of the dad, whom had him put his coat around his hands, we pulled the window off, and i climbed in where the window used to be. 4
She was in the middle seat, crying in fear. Her seat belt wouldn't come off, so I had to cut the waist part of the belt with my keys and the shoulder strap. She didn't make it easy, struggling because she didn't know who I was or what I was doing. I cut the seatbelt completely off and got her slightly out. She was wozy right then blood began coming out of her shirt, i threw my phone out the passanger window and yelled, your daughter is bleeding, call 911.
They did. 5
The mom was at the back window waiting for her daughter to be lifted out, I told her, "u're gonna need to help get me out there with your daughter because i'm keeping pressure on her chest to slow bleeding", she said, "tighten your coat around her then send her out!" I tore my coat in half using my keys again because she was bleeding on her chest and basicly needed a large bandaid from her neck to her right and left thy 6
And her mom was so happy, even though it was below freezing that I gave her little girl my coat, my only coat. That she wouldn't let go of hugging me. I made her let go of me when I heard the drunk start threatening him "Get away from me Porkchop you don't need my information". The drunk raised his fist, That's when I pinned him agiaist the SUV, "calm down".7
He said "let me go, I'll go calm down, just let me go to my car". He staggered to his destroyed car and rummaged around. He came back soon, with a 9mm pistol. He had it pointed at the daughter's face. I kicked him, to get his attention, he tried to shoot me at point blank range less than a meter away and he missed because he staggered.8
After his gun jammed, I brought him to the ground, i threw his gun under his car, it desided to missfire and hit the gasoline. A fireball erupted fire alarms went off all over the parking lot. I got everyone away from there. Right after that the drunk got real violent and ranted about me destroying his car. It took me and the dad to pin him to the ground and we kept him there until the police came. Shortly after the cops came, an ambulence came, followed minutes by two firetrucks to battle the blaze. 9
I told the police everything I did, the whole stroy. The police said that I did everything right except for throwing his gun, I should've slid it, the drunk guy had 2 other guns in his car, an M16 and a sawed off shot gun. 10
And the mom, got my phone number and said, "I'm going to personally buy you a new coat because you sacrificed yours"
After that, they called for alternate rides using my phone and i saw what happened with Anderson and his accident that I assigned to him .11
He was still waiting for the cops to arrive, they did shortly after, I told him what happened. He had the easy one, no one became violent, he didn't have to save a life. He asked me "if I had that one would I have been able to handle it, staring at me like I was insane for not having a coat and a nearly burned off shirt, ripped into shreds.12
Later that week, I went to go visit the girl. The parents were there the mom had sewn up the coat and showed it to me and tried to give it to me. The girl looked at me and cried as I was given the coat back. I looked at it and said "good job", I gave it to her girl for a second time "something to remmember me by, I'll be more than just your hero I'm going to be a soldier", the mom made her daughter an outpatient for the burn marks and gashes were doing just fine, then took me immediately to get a coat. I am now the little girl's hero, litterally and metephorically. 13
Damn it, i'm crying remmembering this.
Author notes
This is a story that really happened. It didn't make the news.
I wrote this because I want to remember the little things I did after I joined the army. I remmember things if i write them down.
