Knight Rider: Computers and Coffee

Michael clutched his black leather jacket tightly together and pulled the collar up. It was raining harder by the minute and Kitt hadn't been able to drop him off at the door because of the traffic. As he strode into the coffee shop, he noticed that the young man he was meeting with was already there, sipping a latte as he clicked away on his laptop. Michael ordered a regular coffee and sat down at the table.1

"So I hear you've got some information to give me?"2

The source turned his laptop toward Michael, revealing him. He was wearing a black sweater and faded jeans, appropriate dress for the cool day it was. His soft bronze skin tone and his facial complexion hinted that he was Italian. Michael looked over the computer screen. It was information on an automotive thievery ring. "I think this will help you," he said in a very light English inflection.3

Michael looked it over. "So they go after European cars more than domestics?"4

"That's what the statistics point to. Listen, I've got...a nice Euro. And I-"5

"Spit it out."6

The young man hesitated. "I've got a concept Maserati Gran Turismo, alright? And I don't want it stolen. If that car is stolen, so is some expensive concept engineering. I built that car from the ground up. If it's taken, I'm blaming you."7

"Hey, we do all we can, okay? We can't protect every car in the state."8

"It's more than a car, sir. It's a supercomputer on wheels."9

Michael nearly choked on his coffee. Another supercomputer? "No. Impossible."10

The young man showed Michael his comm. link. "Nothing is impossible."11

Michael revealed his own link. "Team?"12

"Team."13

They tapped their cups together and Michael drank heavily from his own. This case was as good as solved.

Author notes

Very vaguely relates to coffee, but hey - it still does.

Hey, as long as it manages to relate to coffee...one way or another. I wrote one about pink bananas, because I thought that was the weirdest and coolest topic .
I have to admit, this made me wonder. What will happen next? What happened before to lead up to this?
The description shows their little slice of life very well.
