My Annoying Life: Chapter 1

"ARG!!! JEN!!! I DIDN'T STUDY FOR THE TEEESSSSTTTT!!! QUIZ MEEE!!!" I yelled, quite panicky. 1

"Emma, you need to calm down. We have TAAB today, i'll quiz you." she replied looking slightly annoyed at my being so hyper.2

Jen was my short, brunette friend who always knew what to say. We only knew each other since August at our friend Liv's birthday party, but we became fast friends.3

I sighed with relief just as Jess walked in the room. "Omigod, i'm sooooo tired, I was up 'til like, 2:30 talking to Chris." 4

Chris was her blond, shrimpy boyfriend, who she was obsessed with. Jen and I looked at each other. We did like Jess, but she was a little.... well, I guess you could say WILD. She swore, went to all sorts of concerts, never did her homework, etc. Just then Alex, my best guy friend since second grade, came bounding into the room singing about muffins.5

"OKAY CLASS, TIME FOR TAAAAAABBB!!!!!" bellowed our homeroom teacher Mr. Molvo.6

Jen and I got right to studying. We were drawing on the board, and talking quite loudly, forgetting there were other people who were studying too. Jack, the most annoying but hilarious kid in our class beside Alex, came over and started bothering us. When Jack made Jen laugh like he usually did, that just confirmed my previous notion that Jack had a major crush on Jen. This was my area of expertise. 7

Before we knew it, TAAB was over, and I felt prepared for the test the next day. Soon enough, lunch came. It was my favorite day, because we had lunch with Willow, the team I wish I was on. We all stampeded into the lunch room, since it was pizza day, believe it or not.8

I took a spot at a table with my friend Olivia. Olivia was a spunky, asian girl who loved to dance like me. We would always randomly start doing the Crank Dat dance, and not caring if people stared at us. Soon, I saw my boyfriend Louis enter the room and get in line. Louis had shiny brown hair, which most people thought looked ridiculous because of the way it was cut - a bowl cut, so most people would call him puddingboy, which I found kinda.. funny and slightly annoying, in a way. He was super caring and compassionate though, so he was the perfect guy for me. 9

"Heeey peopleeeee!!!!" he said when he sat down next to me with his pizza. 10

"Hey." Olivia and I replied back. We started talking about random things as people began to join us. Alex, Laura, an asian girl who was my friend from last year, Holly, a tall girl who had a lot of spunk, and her friend Ryan, a HILARIOUS kid who last year had made up a song about a bagel.11

Everyone was talking about what was happening on their teams, and who was making a big scene. My team was honestly pretty dull compared to everyone elses. So, I began talking about the one thing that drove me bananas throughout the day. John and Johnny. The two most obnoxious kids I knew, even though they made me laugh constantly, usually for the wrong reasons.12

"Today Johnny stood up and started bugging the sub and when it started snowing, he was like "I'M GOIN SLEDDING IN MY BATHING SUIT!!! And it was hilarious, you had to be there." I said with content.13

My friends just kinda sat there, murmuring a little. 14

Laura was the only one who responded. 15

"Emma, Katie thinks that it's weird how you hate John and Johnny but you talk about them all the time and you chose to sit next to them in social studies." she said kinda quietly.16

This surprised me. It was true that I had chosen to sit with them, but I had explained the other day that my friend Annie and I were the last two called, and we really wanted to sit together, and the only two seats left were with John and Johnny. They just happened to be the most interesting thing in that class, and nothing else really happened, so I had no choice but to talk about them if I wanted to be part of the conversation. 17

"Excuse me, i'll be right back." and I stomped off angrily to the bathroom.18

Ugh, they'd been bothering me about the littlest things lately. And I hadn't even resolved a huge conflict regarding a few people, and they're picking on me. When I returned to the table, I was holding back tears. 19

"Are you okay, Emma?" Louis asked me like he usually did. 20

"Yeah... I'm fine." I said, barely holding the tears back now. I felt my face get hot, and luckily, our table was called to leave.21

I walked up the stairs by myself, head hanging down. 22

"Emma! Wait up!" Jen called. She ran to catch up with me. "Are you alright? Emma... Emma!!" she said, when I wasn't responding. I knew if I spoke the tears would come falling down. 23

"I.. I'm okay." I lied. She then saw my face, and hugged me. 24

"You're not okay. Now tell me what's wrong." she said comfortingly, as if she were my mother.25

"It's a long story, i'd rather not go into it." I replied solemnly. I then opened my locker and trudged off to math class.
