Poetry

The mood of serenity is broken by a whimper which turned into a shrill cries. For food, Cuddling, A soothing voice? It didn't matter why. All that mattered to the awakened mother were the tears flowing from her baby's eyes.1

It was the umpteenth time that she had gazed down into her daughters crib. Now her cries heightened to screams as tears strolled down her cheeks in streams. Mama lifted the infant from her crib, now sober after being taken out of her dreams.2

She looked at the clock and it read 11:17. She cradled her baby begging her mentally to, 3

"stop crying, please."4

While she waited patiently, rocking back and forth to put to sleep, her newborn infant Poetry. Her screams subsided slightly as mama hugged the infant to her chest. she never noticed her husband coming in from work until she felt his strong caress. By now HER face was wet with tears.5

"She doesn't like," she said confessing her fears.6

"Baby that's not true," Daddy said,"here."7

Daddy held out his arms as mama give him their baby. Poetry uttered a mew of contentment and grew quiet.8

Gently rocking his daughter, softly singing to his daughter, Mama was both upset and in aw.9

"I spent almost an hour trying to get her to sleep. 10

what does she get from you that she can't get from me?"11

Daddy looked at her and said, "baby... That's cause I'm daddy."12

Mama, also known as Regina looked at her husband in shock, but she chose not to dispute his statement for the sake of Poetry. Daddy also known as Dre, held poetry as she fell asleep upon his shoulder as his smile seemd to glow in the dim living room as he laid Poetry back into her crib. He gazed lovingly into the sleeping work of art that God created for him and his wife.13

Regina leaned against the doorway of their bedroom, in her satin blue robe watching as Dre stood up in his brown UPS uniform. His shirt was unbuttoned and untucked revealing his white tank top underneath. Regina bit her bottom lip with desire, forgetting she was jealous of his heroism. His way with their daughter was nonetheless a result of him spoiling her.
"So how was your day today?" Dre asked.
"Tiring, I don't start back workin til the next week," Regina said as she snapped back to reality.
Dre smiled his pearly white smile.
"Tiring? How so?" He asked.
"POETRY!" Regina replied, "I couldn't get her to sleep unless she heard your voice, or smelled your scent. She's only satisfied with me half the time, but if you're not here by the time she gets tired of me, then all hell breaks loose."
Regina folded her arms and pouted her lips, "Baby, I'm jealous."
He blushed as he walked slowly torward her and caressed her face.
"Don't be," He said, "She's the kinda child who needs both parents equally. So it's not like she don't like you."
Regina looked away, as she laid her head on his chest. She smiled as she looked up into his deep brown eyes.
"It's times like this that always remind me why I'm so in love with you."
Suddenly their lips pressed softly in a tender kiss.

I felt his kiss, as I inhaled his seduction. When our lips departed, I exhaled his magic. I took a moment to admire his features as he held me firmly in his strong arms, making me feel protected in his caress. He stood at 5'10" with a low cut, semi muscular build and a goatee. Last but not least, he was dark and chocolate too.
Poetry is what brought us together. No not our daughter, Poetry, I mean beautifully written word chains that just so happened to rhyme. But We'll get into that later. As for now...

DRE
... The look of adoration twinkled in her eyes as I softly kissed her lips once again.
"You know I missed you today?" I told her.
She smiled as her arms locked around my neck.
"Is that so?" She asked.
"Then show me how much."15
