Life of a lower-class wizard: Chapter 2

"Doooory!!!! Come down here! Your father and I want to tell you something!"1

Dory groaned as she stood up from her Math 1 homework. They were working on geometry, which quite frankly sucked. She dragged her feet down the stairs and into the yellow and blue kitchen.2

"What is it??? I'm kinda busy!" she complained.3

"Dory, do you remember your cousin Sarah? Well, she's soming to stay with us for the next 3 weeks! Won't that be fun?" her mom shrieked.4

Dory felt like she had just been run over by a bus, chopped up with steak knives, eaten and spit up by wolves, and trampled with stilettos. 5

Sarah Victoria Baxter, age 13 blonde hair brown eyes, was the queen of mean, and LOVED to mess around with Dory. She was on the honor roll, sang like an angel, starred in all the school plays in her town, made it into the newspaper 19 times, saved a litter of puppies from a burning house, was crowned Junior Miss Maryland, and appeared on Oprah. Okay, maybe she didn't appear on Oprah, but everything else is true. When Dory and Sarah were 6 years old, Sarah locked her in the bathroom for 3 hours, and then went to dinner with Dory's parents and aunt. Talk about oblivious parents...6

"W-when is she coming?" she stuttered. 7

"Friday. She'll stay in your room with you, so it will be just like having a sister!"8

"Yeah, a demon sister..." Dory muttered.9

"What was that?"10

"Oh nothing. I'm gonna go back to my homework..." she said as she slowly turned and paced away.11

Dory collapsed on her soft, bouncy bed and sighed. At least it's only for 3 weeks... she thought. Maybe she's changed...12

Yeah right! Sarah will NEVER change how she feels about me or anyone like me... I'll just have to deal with it. And she closed her eyes and fell asleep...13
