{Untitled & Unfinished}

"I can not believe I let you talk me into this," Jason shrugged as his eyes rolled.1

"Oh come on," I argued, "Don't you think this'll be fun?" 2

"What's so fun about being stuck in a town that doesn't even have a Wal-Mart?" he countered, "It's sounds like we'll be living under a rock for the next two months." 3

"God, it's going to be a huge pain if you're going to be complaining the whole time we're filming here."4

"I wouldn't be complaining if this town had at least a population of a thousand people."5

"Look, I know this town is small but you'll just have to get over it. It's my home and I love it."6

"That doesn't mean I have to." 7

"Ugh. Tell me again why I agreed marry you?"8

Jason and I were sitting in a limo on our way to the small town of New Bern. You see, the two of us belonged to the film industry and for our newest movie 'Tides of Romance'. We had to relocate to my hometown for a couple months. Sitting in the car with Jason, I felt everything but romance. 9

The limo came to a slow halt as we pulled up to a small motel. 10

"Mr. Dawson, Miss Evans, we're here," I heard the driver's voice from the front seat. We waited until the suited man walked around the car and opened our doors. 11

"Thank you, Grant." I heard myself say as I took his hand to get out of the car.12

13

"Jessica! Jason! What took you guys so long? You're over three hours late!" Our manager, Daniel Jacobs scolded as he led us to our hotel room. 14

"Miss Superstar here had to sign EVERY single picture a fan brought up to her at the airport," Jason blamed.15

"Look," I defended, "I have a reputation to protect and unlike yours, mine isn't being the devil of Hollywood." 16

"Well, if you actually had at least one mean bone in your body, maybe we wouldn't have to get yelled at by Daniel all the time. But no, you just had to be Miss Goody-Two-Shoes. "17

"It's better to be nice than evil."18

"Nice people finish last. If you didn't spend so much time trying to please other people, maybe you'd have more time to do your job."19

"And if you didn't spend so much being an egomaniac, maybe you'd have a bigger fan base." 20

"I am NOT an egomaniac." 21

"Oh, yes you ar-"22

"GUYS!" Daniel's voice interrupted, "You two just keep going and going, you know that? It's like two betas in a fish tank. For heaven's sake, just stop already. Anyways...here's your room. Unpack quickly, filming's going to start at three." 23

24

Misty waves rolled into a sandy shore. The breeze chilled my skin as I waited for the red light on the camera to flash. Three...two...one...I saw Valerie's hands signal. My toes bordered the waves while Jason stood waist deep in the ocean. 25

"Come on," he urged. "The water's fine!"26

"Are you crazy?!" I yelled back, "It's twenty degrees in there!"27

"If you don't come in I'll have to get you," he warned playfully as he stepped closer. 28

"No, don't," I begged, backing away. When Jason got close enough to me, he took my hand in his. 29

"Come on," he pleaded once again, "Go in the water with me." He led me into the waves for a few steps.30

"What are you doing?" I questioned. I felt his hand tug on mine and the next thing I knew, my feet slipped on the rocks below and we both fell. The clothes I wore soaked in the ocean for a while before Jason offered a helping hand.31

"Now wasn't that fun?" He asked, a huge grin printed across his face. I laughed,32

"I repeat, you're crazy." Quickly, I added, "Oh, and If I end up getting frostbite, I'm blaming you."33

"Cut!" I heard Valerie yell, "Let's wrap it up."34

"Get up," Jason demanded.35

"I'll move when you do. I'm a little trapped if you haven't noticed," I snapped back. 36

37

A while later, I sat in my trailer, a towel in hand. My hands struggled to wring the water out of my hair. A knock sounded on the door.38

"Who is it?" I asked.39

"It's just me," Daniel's voice replied. "I need to go over the schedule for the film. Can I come in?"40

"Yeah," I anwsered, "It's unlocked." The handle turned before he stepped in. He eyed the attire I wore. 41

"Is this a bad time?"  42

"Danny. You've seen me on a two page spread in Playboy, alright? This should be nothing to you now."43

"Right...anyways, tomorrow we film pages thirty-seven to forty two. Forty three if we're lucky. Costumes and make up start at five thirty. Make sure to drink a lot of coffee." 44

"Will do. Should I pass this on to Jason?" 45

"I think it's better if I talk with him."46

"If you insist. What else?" 47

"There's a press conference on Monday." We have press in this town? Who knew?

Author notes

Okay, this is not finished, even though I have some big plans for this. The italics will probably go away though, because my membership is running out. Enjoy! (I'm finally overcoming my writer's block. Yay! )

The characters are great and I adore the storyline already! There is only one problem I see with it in all.

The line: "Miss Superstar here to sign EVERY single picture a fan brought up to her at the airport," Jason blamed.

Did you mean: "Miss Superstar here HAD to sign EVERY single picture a fan brought up to her at the airport," Jason blamed.

Other than that, I love where this is going! Please keep it up, I'm anxious to see where it all leads!

Jason shrugged as his eyes rolled.
    **shrug doesn't seem to fit.

You see, the two of us belonged to the film industry and for our newest movie Tides of Romance , we had to relocate to my hometown for a couple months.

    **don't like "You see"
    **period after Romance

The limo came to a slow halt as we pulled up to a
    small motel.
**slow and halt are antonyms to me.

"Thank you, Grant." I heard myself say as I took his hand to get out of the car.

**you don't always have to have an action coupled with dialog. Perhaps just have thank you grant OR just an action like.. "I thanked the man and stepped out of the car."

I am impressed with how much the dialog tells us about the characters. I didn't like how with every single sentence of dialog you followed it with "she questioned." or something similar. Dialog can stand on its own.

Maybe, its because of the more dialog and less... non dialog, but I thought this was well paced, kind of like, easy to read and eager to read because your feeling the characters through the dialog.

keep writing, keep me informed if you write more too .
