To be honest, none of the awaiting freshmen were listening to the speaker because they were all mesmerized by the beautiful architecture of the castle school. The sides of the structure were embellished with thorned vines, while the gothic-influenced windows and statues of baby angels complimented the air of the school itself. Most of the students got shivers down their spines as their eyes scanned the exterior of the school, but they knew it was an old building, and that those creepy designs were once considered to be in style.2
“So finally my dear pupils, we wish you the best success in our academy, for this place will be the reason for your future fruitful life. Discover the campus, walk around! This school is now your home dear students! Welcome to the Chateau Academy!” exclaimed the announcer, and everyone in the crowd cheered. A gentleman with a pair of oversized scissors then approached a red ribbon that hung at the main entrance of the academy, and cut it.3
Buses that were filled with the students’ luggage were lined up behind the school and waited for the students to come and pick their things up. A group of four incoming freshmen gathered together as the other students hurried to their luggage.4
“Shinya! Hey” yelled Jenny. She ran up to Shinya and gave him a warm hug. In a calm but cool tone Shinya greeted her back and hugged her. The summer had been long and rough for him, so it was a refreshing feeling to finally be back in school.5
“How was New York City?” asked Jenny. She smiled.6
“It was nice, you know. Met up with friends, had adventures in the big apple.”7
“Yeah, I went to Thailand for vacation. It was fun, wish you could have been there!” She gave his arm a playful tug to put emphasis on her words.8
“Aw yeah, me too.” Replied Shinya. He was just playing along though, as he didn’t want to bring Jenny’s mood down. Shinya thought that the two seconds of silence that remained after he replied to her were going to kill him, but alas he was saved when he heard two crazy voices calling to him.9
“Dude! Ey! Sup!” yelled the voices, and they got louder as they approached him. These voices were Choco and Vanil, the Swiss twins. These twins were of Swiss nationality and their last name was literally “Swiss,” a coincidence which could make the most serious of people giggle. No one knew their real names because they were too long to memorize. Choco, a girl, had brown hair, and Vanil, a boy, had icy blond hair and that’s how they earned their nicely fitting nicknames.10
Choco and Vanil almost pounced on the couple when they saw them. “Dude! Shinya! Jenny! What’s up!” screamed Vanil. He almost scared everyone else on campus since he was so loud an energetic. Choco, the calmer but just as loud twin, gave a “Squee!” and hugged Jenny. These four friends had been friends since grade school, and usually hung out during the summer. The summer that had just passed had been the first that they had spent apart, and finally seeing each other again was almost new.11
“So, anybody experience any awesome hookups?” inquired Choco.12
“Ah I fucked this big booty girl in my car the other day—“started Vanil.13
“Eww!”14
“Well, I didn’t experience any hookups in Thailand,” stated Jenny. “I’m saving myself for someone’s whose worth it.” She smiled and looked at Shinya.15
“Ah? Me? I didn’t experience too much in New York. Yeah, it had pretty girls and all, but not much happened,” Shinya said it with an almost embarrassed look.16
However, he knew he was lying. He never wanted to leave New York. In fact, even though it was refreshing to be back in school and the suburbs, every now and then he missed the cacophony of New York and the person he met there; the person that changed his life in just under those 2 months of summer.17
Author notes
-The character "Shinya" in this story is not based on Dir en Grey's or Luna Sea's Shinya. I was just looking for a nice male name.
-In French, the word "Chateau" means castle. Keep this in mind as this will come up in future chapters.
-I know it doesn't seem like it, but this is actually a horror/thriller story. I know it doesn't seem like it, but be prepared for a lot of killing/psychological events in the future to be read.
-This was actually based on a nightmare I had so I decided to use it and make a story. There will probably be like 5 or 6 more chapters to come.
