Kingdom Dreams

Prologue1

A beautiful Lady living in a very pretty kingdom worked in a special school where kids in upper classes could chose to help the kids in lower classes, such as kindergartners, with various things in a class for both groups to learn the basics of family life. Such as cooking, cleaning, building and play time activities.2

The school building was situated near the castle, this being the case some classrooms had a good view of the grand castle. The classroom the Lady, Alyssa, used was one of these classrooms. On occasion she caught herself, as well as one of the elder teenage students, gazing out the window facing the castle in a daydream state. 3

It was rumored that the prince was a handsome devil with short, spiked blonde hair the color of wheat in sunshine and eyes the color of the ever changing ocean, one minute light blue, the next dark blue. Only one person knew the rumor to be true, at least one
person outside the castle inhabitants and the people that knew the prince personally, but we’ll get to that person later in the story.4

As for the Lady Alyssa, she is a very special lady indeed, she has been given special talents. Alyssa can talk to animals through telepathy and read their thoughts, but she never abuses the abilities. She can make plants grow just by touching an area and concentrating, also Alyssa can shape shift into three animals; rabbit, fox, and wolf and she is trying to learn new ones when she can. Not many people know of Lady Alyssa’s abilities and the ones that did kept the secret very well. Her hair is a wavy, long flowing bright coppery red, and her eyes are a milk chocolate brown with skin like a sun kissed peach.5

Now about the rumor of the prince and the person who knew it to be true. Well it is none other than Lady Alyssa, who found out, quiet by accident, that the rumors about the prince were true, one day as she was on her way home from the school.6

Chapter 17

The prince was out for a ride and had stopped to water his horse at the lake when he heard a brief feminine squeal followed by a splash, he hurried over to some stepping stones, the area the sound came from, and looked around. Spotting a shimmer of red in the water the prince reached in and grabbed what felt to be an arm and began to pull. A lovely lady’s face came into view and sputtering the lady began to help him in his aid by kicking her legs. Once on land the lady caught her breath and looked up at the man who had come to her aid, “Thank you sir.”8

“Your welcome my lady. What happened?” The young man asked her.9

“I started across the stones to go home when my foot slipped on one of them and I fell in. I think I went under because the water was so cold it took my breath from me.” She pauses then holds out a hand to him, “I am Lady Alyssa. I am a teacher at the school near the castle.”
“Pleased to met you madam, I am Prince Leon.” He replies taking her hand and kissing the back of it politely.
Lady Alyssa blushes and bows her head respectfully, “I am honored to met you Sire.”
He smiles at her and helps her to her feet, “Please call me Leon.”
Alyssa smiles shyly at him, “I must be going now, I have to get home. Again I thank you, Leon.”
Prince Leon smiles at her shivering figure and removing his cloak wraps it around her shoulders, “At least take this and be warm as you go.”
“How will I return it to you?” Lady Alyssa asks, worried about being admitted to the castle. The prince rubs his chin thoughtfully,
“Hmm…ah, here is a flag of friendship to show that you have my permission to enter the castle.” He hands her a beautiful flag depicting a butterfly sitting on a shimmering rose entwined with a clover.
Lady Alyssa tucks the flag into a hidden pocket within the folds of the cloak, thanks him and bids him good day, going on her way, crossing the stepping stones safely this time to head to her home on the other side of the lake.
As Lady Alyssa walks she wraps the cloak tighter around herself and inhales the scent that is solely the prince’s. It is a scent she will always remember, one of warm sunshine, pleasant aromas of a woodsy nature and a very light hint of lavender.
She smiles to herself and hums a happy song, sounding something like “It’s so easy to fall in love”.
Her home is tucked snugly near a waterfall in the heart of the forest, with lots of animals living around her. Two of them being her best friends, a unicorn by the name of Emerald and a wolf by the name of Dark Moon. Both of which are waiting for her as she approaches the cozy cottage. The unicorn, Emerald, tosses her mane and comes toward her sending her a telepathic greeting, ‘Welcome home, mi lady. How was the day?’ Lady Alyssa smiles at her friend and answers her aloud, “Thank you, Ema. My day was very nice, although I must say it was not so nice when I fell into the lake, but the prince was near and he helped me get out again.” She smiles brightly as she talks about the prince and her eyes seem to sparkle.
Dark Moon had walked up to his friend upon hearing her footsteps and had been listening intently, he asks, plain as day, “Are you alright, Lady?” as he scans her from head to foot. “You do not look harmed.”
Alyssa pats the wolf on the head, unafraid, “I am fine, just a little cold.”
‘You seem happy despite your fall, Alyssa.’ Emerald notes with a knowing twinkle in her emerald eyes. Dark Moon looks back and forth from the unicorn to the human confused then it dawns on him that Lady Alyssa said something about the prince,
“Did you say the prince helped you?”
“ Yes.” Lady Alyssa smiles and humming walks into the cottage not saying another word. The two animals look at each other and go on their separate way knowing that when the lady is ready she will tell them more about it.10

Chapter 211

Unbeknown to either the prince or the lady they were being watched as they talked by the lake, then the lady was followed as she went home. A cousin of Prince Leon, who was filled with jealousy and worried that his friendship with Leon would be jeopardized if the he fell in love, had been following Prince Leon and watching his every move. His name was Lucas. He saw the prince’s reaction to the beautiful lady and her reaction to him and knew they had fallen for each other. He watched as Prince Leon wrapped his cloak around the lady and handed her the flag of friendship with the castle’s insignia on it and frowned.
As the lady walked home Lucas followed keeping his distance. We watched with distaste as she drew the cloak tighter around her and sniffed it. And heard her soft humming which did sound very nice, but he shook it off and kept following her.
He watched in awe as she talked to some animals as if they could understand her and he knew the wolf actually could because, miracles of miracles it spoke to her, really spoke to her. But the unicorn, well he did not know exactly what to make of that, for he had never seen one and it seemed that the lady could talk to and pet the creature for as she had gone past it to get to the cottage she had stroked it’s side.
Lucas collected himself after watching this exchange and made his plans to keep the lady from prince Leon. He would wait until all was quiet in the house and the animals had disappeared for the night and slip in to find the flag and replace it with a different one.
So as soon as darkness fell and a light had been snuffed out in what appeared to be the lady’s room. Lucas gathers his courage and finding a stick he lights it and as quietly as possible slips into the house and searching finds the flag and switches it with the flag he has with him.
After leaving the new flag Lucas immediately heads back to his quarters in the castle and awaits the day the lady will come to return the cloak. Grinning to himself at his planning, as he falls asleep.
The following morning Lucas is asked by a king’s messenger to go to Lady Alyssa and escort her to the castle. He looks at the messenger confusedly, “Who is this Lady Alyssa that you ask me to escort?”
“Oh it is the lady that Prince Leon assisted, she has sent word that she will be coming to return his cloak. You will met her at the lake near the stepping stones.” and with that the messenger turns and walks back to the throne room. Lucas rubs his hands together excitedly, this is what he was waiting for. Lucas sets off to met Lady Alyssa at the designated spot.
