Nice! Cuts straight to the conflict of the story, and presents your [main?] character's tone and attidute very well.

The title reminds me of H.P. Lovecraft's "The Outsider," and this line fits the premise of that story as well. Was it any inspiration, or am I reading too much in?

One of my favorite entries in the contest so far. Thanks for entering, and good luck!

I think you managed to use less characters than your genre summary, but gave even more information. Brilliant. Just out of interest, has anyone ever used this line on you before?

Just a thought, but since we're allowed any number of entries, I guess it would be unsporting of me to try out:

"What do you mean I'm human?"

    or even:

"What do you mean I'm not allowed to plagiarise?"

I'm not judging this, but of the entries so far, your one wins in my books.

      Glad you like it!!

This line is actually the first line of a story I am working on at the moment which I shall put on in chapters for advice and help shortly. It says so much, but makes you want know more ..

Wouldn't we all wish to not be human at times?

      Thanks again
