She hung up the receiver of the payphone with tears in her eyes. She hadn't planned for it to turn out like it had. He loved her, and she had just crushed him. She turned to see her friends standing around her, cheering. She didn't understand. They didn't know him. If they did, they wouldn't have pressured her to do what she had just done.1
Seeing her friends acting the way they were, her attitude quickly changed. She plastered on a smile and even took part as they said mean things about him. Still, she felt horrible inside. He loved her. She wasn't sure if she loved him back. She thought she did, until her camp-mates started saying things to her. They would tell her that he was ugly. They said he was a loser and that she could do better. She knew it wasn't true. She would never find anybody who loved her more than he had, and still did.2
